Does anyone know how to load a saved game file?

It's not possible as far as I know. Game auto loads and auto-saves.

I suggest you go to the Forza Support page and open a ticket.

from time to time i save the "wgs" folder but i don t know what can help in your case if you didn t saved it manually.

just check google for where to find the right wgs folder to save all that savegame stuff...so you can do manual backups and overwrite the wgs folder in a case like yours actually.

You can access your steam cloud by logging in and finding Forza Horizon 5 files here: https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage in case steam cloud is unable to sync your files and lost your data.
