Building a Radio Tool for FH5, allowing importing new music into the game. Requesting feedback.
I'm working on a tool that lets users import songs into the game so that they can play them on the in-game radio. The reason for making this tool was due to me not enjoying the existing in-game music at all.

Yes, people recommend muting the in-game radio station and listening to something else, but I'm stubborn.

Here is what it looks like right now: https://i.imgur.com/9MdGmSW.png

If anyone would like to give their opinions, I'm interested in knowing the following:

* Would you like to replace all the songs or just some?

* How many of you still listen to MP3/FLAC files instead of just streaming using Spotify/Youtube/etc?

The first question is to do with figuring out whether I should implement audio extraction at all from the game, or not.

The second question is to figure out how many still have their own music collections, and in what format. The tool will allow users to import songs off youtube, etc. So downloading songs manually will not be required.

Any other requests or feedback? Feel free to include it.

wow incredible work!

Q1) I would personally do Full replacement.

Q2) I don't have many mp3 files anymore personally, I can't seen many people with them since spotify and YT is so popular.

looking forward to progress on this!

Love the idea, was hoping someone would do this. As long as the devs wont ban your account for "tampering" with the game I'm super excited for this.

To answer your questions. I still have a huge mp3 collection so being able to link to folders and playing randomly would be great. Streaming could also work for those who prefer it, but I'm old school. Both options?

You can either replace existing songs or just add a custom radio station with only your music. Although I like hearing the DJs talk between songs giving updates and feedback, skillsongs etc.

Good luck with the development.

I've dreamed of something exactly like this, for almost every racing game, and more. Sure turning music off and playing your own music is ok but you miss out on the DJ's and the track pacing with gameplay, not to mention the audio levels changing according to dialogue or driving by a trackside stage or PA system. I'd be really down to try out a version that uses local files OR streaming. Have you published this work anywhere or intend to? Is there a thread somewhere I can follow the progress for when you're done?

To clarify, you cannot stream directly off any service or youtube or w/e as the audio files cannot be changed while the game is running. The tool will let you make your own playlists of songs and import them into the game's audio files.

I'm working on being able to increase the number of songs per radio station, and I'm quite sure it should be possible to do so, given enough time.

I haven't published the tool yet, hopefully in 8-10 days. Once it is released, I will put up the source on Github so other people can contribute and seek/provide help. I will post a new thread here when I release the tool.

I honestly would publish this under an Alt account from your main steam profile, there is some likelihood you could get the ban hammer for this even though it doesn't affect gameplay. thanks for your contribution, this is truly next level and awesome.

This is a fantastic idea. Just a bit worried about being banned. You'll never know with T10/PG

I've been testing with custom radio stations for a while now. I'll try and see if someone from T10 is interested in talking about this through some friends.

If I could integrate my apple music streaming into the game I would be in heaven. I borderline hate the music in the game and there are very few tracks on top of that.

Great job, seriously, it's incredible that you managed to make a program to add new songs into the radio stations of the game.

You have a high chance of getting banned sadly, if the ToS of the game says that you can't tamper with the game files through an external program then you're screwed. But the best case scenario is that PG sees this and thinks that it's cool and decides to let it exist.

I'm ok with either swapping out existing radio station or having a new one that does not have djs, skill songs. Also most of my music is either mp3 or wav with some flac files in between. So I do wonder how many formats will be supported.

MP3, Wav, Flac support already in.

To me, this sounds pointless to do but have fun

Please make a Github page ahead of time to save and update for the future in the event you get b&'d

I remember a time when replacing a soundtrack was as simple was replacing .wav files. I sure miss that.

Just a small update. The tool will be released in about a week.
