By default it uses name from your account info. You can change it in house, same way you change clothes and hairstyles. There's decent selection of nicknames. Or you can just mute all voices. Makes Horizon Stories somewhat less insufferable too.

Ya, it spooked me. Game made me link my ancient unused Xbox account, forgot my real name was linked to the account.

Bu you are not YOU in this game. Look at yourself; it is someone else. Your drivatar is running the show and they like their name (Probably. Parents give us all our names. No option).

I use women drivatars and have found nice names for them. I like looking at a woman driver. You see the drivatar pretty often.
