LOAD load time at startup
After the game boots and im at the "start game, accessibility settings" screen the "loading... please wait" spins for a solid 5-6 minutes before i then get to the "continue options sign out and exit" screen. Once that screen shows pressing continue ill then load into the map normally. Been doing this for about a year and haven't been bothered enough to make a post. Any ideas? doubt its a PC issue, played over 200 hours on this same rig

EDIT: PC Specs are Win10
Core i7 4770
16GB DDR3
RTX2060 non S 6GB
Samsung EVO 256GB for OS
2x WD Blue 1TB HDD, which is where game is.
During this long load task manager shows NO activity on the drive FH5 is installed on. its only AFTER the long load and AFTER i click continue THEN the drive is accessed and i load into the map in like a minute or so. im FAILING to see how its a drive issue if its not being accessed during the load load screen

That's the part where it's trying to talk to the servers - maybe something funny with the Teredo setup on your machine.

Are you using a Solid state drive (SSD) in your PC?

yes but FH5 is on my hard drive, but i don't see that as as issue as during the "loading... please wait" task manager shows FH5 using no disk activity, it doesn't bulk load until after "loading... please wait" and i click continue, to which it loads the map in a normal time. might have to take a video

it was never an issue before? i got FH5 at release and like i said during that stupid long loading screen there is NO drive access happening. so its not like its just taking forever to load textures theres NO activity until AFTER the load and i click continue, to which then drive activity then spikes up and i load into the game normally.

EDIT: Its gotta be a game, server or network issue. blaming the hard drive that isnt even being accessed during the long load loop isnt getting anywhere

If it was the game, a lot more people would experience this. Did you even bother to try installing it on your SSD to simply troubleshoot the issue or are you just trolling at this point?

Taking 5-6 minutes to load seems like your blowing the issue out of proportion. Your responses also contradicts your own post. Why come here to ask for suggestions on what the issue could be, if you are not even going to bother to try what some have suggested?

You state you played the game without issue for a year. Why suddenly would it be the games problem? Sounds more like a problem with your own setup. If you are using a standard HDD, it may simply be, your HD is "Full" or fragmented. It could be a memory issue also. Who knows? What's the point to offer any suggestion because you are just going to disagree and seem to have all the answers and your mind made up already? So why bother trying to help you?

You also gave very little information on your setup. None actually. So we are also supposed to read your mind?

Oh. It take like 6 seconds for me to go from screen to screen on a NVME M.2. I guess the game simply does not like you. The devs must be targeting you and causing these long load times. /rolls eyes

on my secondary PC:
Win10
i5 6600k stock
16gb ddr4 stock
rx480 8gb factory OC
OS drive samsung evo sata SSD
Game install drive samsung QVO sata SSD

From clicking start in steam, to being able to drive a car in the open world...

1min 24 seconds ( I measured it with the stop watch on my mobile phone so +/- a second or two for margin of error, but its pretty bang on.)

I agree with the above, you should install the game on an SSD, make sure it's fully up to date etc, and then time it again.

** caviat - I closed my web browser and any other apps to free up memory/cpu before taking this measurement.

You have the game on HDD. It's 2024, get a cheap SSD for games. This is the only possible answer to your problem.

You are probably one of the reasons for the long "Fast traveling other players" nonsense.

Exactly, facebook marketplace is the exact place OP should be looking, nearby, meet in a place you're comfy with, swap and go ,
