lost all my progress. 140hr of gaming
after a restart of my pc i lost all of my progress in fh5. when i start the game, i have to start from beginning again. is there a known way to get my progress back? pls help

That's bizarre because your progress in this game should transfer both to other platforms and to new installs. Due to all the crashing and performance problems at launch, I've actually refunded the game 2 times and both times I came back, including the 3rd purchase where I ended up keeping the game, my progress was saved on the new install.

i really dont know what to do. forza support is not working until new year and i dont know how to restore my progress... i made a ticket already

Stupid question, did you try to logout in main menu? Then try to relog with the exact same MS account.

did it keep your world ranks?

Yes i did. I also see that my saves are local and not in the cloud. I found the folder with my saves but maybe its broken??

The funniest thing: i dont know how it happend? I was ingame and did a little break. After i came back, my mic didnt worked, so i quit the game as always and restart my pc. After restarting forza, i have to play from the beginning; choose name etc.

Later i will make a fresh new install and start with level 0 again. Thanks forza 😂😂

Corrupted file, maybe from desync in server. Pretty sure that is the little lag spike when you go into free roam. you got the you know what end of the stick.

Have you solved the problem? I had this happen to me before. Fortunately, I got my file back.

Here's how, I hope it works for you.

First of all, go into <Steam-folder> \userdata\ <user-id> \1551360\

**!!! COPY THE FOLDER AND PUT IT SOMEWHERE SAFE.

THEN

DELETE IT. !!!**

Now on to the actual fix (maybe)

1. Disconnect/disable your PC's internet
2. Start Steam in offline mode
3. Start up Forza Horizon 5
4. Play for at least 10 minutes (or do the whole intro sequence) to ensure the game overwrites your local save.
5. Quit game
6. Exit/Restart steam (In online mode)
7. Play FH5
8. Now it should ask you if you want to overwrite your local saved data or whatever, with the newest save, do that.
9. Remember the folder you stored for safekeeping? Copy it back to its original location.
10. Play game and pray.

No, it doesn't do that. I won't bother going into all of it, but no, that doesn't happen.

They also say in the FAQ the Steam version and MS Store versions have different saves. Not sure what you mean by platforms.

The steam cloud backup work sometimes, but not always. But also keep in mind uninstalling the game doesn't remove your local save data.

Players should back up their own saves.

Delete both (after copying them).

Didnt work for me. Dont get any question to overwrite my data. I delete forza and download it again. But i think i have to start again
I have had the exact same thing happen to me on December 14th. I've submitted a support ticket, over a week ago and I have yet to receive any form of helpful response. The only response I have received is them asking me if I still need assistance.... The support team at least for me, hasn't even begun to lift a finger to help.
