Refining tunes for certain classes to make the most effective car in that class etc....
I think any way, sometimes it can be too specific, like the belair one we just got.
If they didn't force us to use specific things, we'd use the same 2 cars our whole career.
I do think sometimes it's too narrow, but I also think a lot of times their car classification system is trash. But that is a different discussion. having restrictions is one thing, but also having it paired with an arbitrary car classification system makes some things worse.
This way you get an incentive to make more build for your cars and for me that is pretty much the main point of horizon games.
And often there's no consistency in how cars are classified. Virtually every offroad in now "4x4 pickup", including Jeep WB and Land Rover III. "Offroads" is now made of, I believe, 5 cars, all of them purpose-built Dakkar/Baja racers, which means they should be in Unlimited Offroad with trophy trucks. 90's Impreza and Lancer are "retro", when this theme is for group B and early group A cars. And so on.
I also agree with the category problem. I was hopelessly confused for a solid week as to why I couldn't finish the offroad requirements using my Deberti JLU. I love that thing because it's so similar to the JLU I actually own.. so I was excited to finally actually use it in a challenge. Turns out it's "offroad unlimited".
Also.. It looks like one of the championships this time around literally says "anything goes, b700". That should be interesting.
One of the coolest things about this game is (was i mean... lol) having your amazingly favorite tuned and dedicated offroad car, for example, but turns out you cant use it in most of the events because of all restrictions of some sort. In the end, the motivation of tunning and upgrading, and doing liveries.. is completely destroyed. FH5 right now must be the worst game ever released in... pff... many many years lol.
We are having a lot of fun using new cars and tunings every week.
What is the point doin all challenge with your same three favorite cars?
In my opinion, they bring out the game's actual flavor. The events that ask you to try out one of the ignored classes at low PI ratings are particularly enjoyable.
Also, do check out each event's restrictions beforehand. You are supposed to make it a habit when playing seasonal races.
To set these restrictions only on the class is fine. But force to use 1 specific car is just trash on every point.
Also the PR-Stunts in Seasons actually sucking hard because of the restrictions at all.
In FH4 i loved it to drive the weekly PR-Stunts by hanging around with friends and have a passiv target and was not forced to change or even build a car for. Just for a 2 second interaction. It is soooooooooooo big waste of potential. That these season-races got restrictions is totaly fine for me and increase also the experience.
_________ Things they HAVE to change _______
- Stupid single/specific-Car restrictions
- PR-Stunt restrictions
