Drifting with a wheel...
Is it just me or is this nearly impossible in this game?
The second my rear goes out, instantly it's either going all the way or I am going to get snap understeer.

I don't understand what it going on.
Keyboard and I can drift blindfolded, its dumb easy, but use my wheel and it's either I spin or I get random snap understeer.
I have been in the middle of a dift, full steering lock to try and recover and the back continues sliding, tap on my keyboard and BAM! recovered.... How is this possible?

Can someone help me out? I don't understand what I am doing wrong.

most likely due to the fact that on keyboard 1 tap = full left or right steer technically
to achieve the same result on the wheel you would have to yank it all the way to 1 side fully

It's possible but the game was designed for console and ported to work on PC. So wheel support is not ideal if you compare it to CarX which is a dedicated drifting game.

Honestly any drifting events i would just do it on a keyboard or gamepad to save a headache.

That is incorrect. I suggest you turn on telemetry when you are playing with a keyboard. It does not go to 100% immediately. It actually smooths the turn which means if you tap the keys you can achieve a more gradual turn.

Note: If you have a wheel plugged in the same time as playing with keyboard then there is a bug that is does actually go straight to 100% as soon as you press. If you play with this bug then you have almost zero chance of winning any races and any key press kills your speed.

The real reason why drifting is ♥♥♥♥ with a wheel is that Wheel support in FH4&5 is bad. It is nowhere near as good as most other pc race or sim games i.e. wreckfest, ACC etc. Hell, even NFS has better wheel support.

Wheel is okay for AWD street and road races. Wheel is bad for dirt, RWD, drifting and pretty much everything else.

If you turn the wheel down to something like 270 degrees of rotation (instead of 540 or 900 or whatever you normally use on most games) then you are likely to have a bit more success but at that point you you aren't even really using a wheel with that kind of rotation.
