I've figured more out about it though. It's taa that's switching it off. If i enable taa and frame generation together they work together however next time i start the game, frame generation is switched back off. However if i enable dlaa and frame generation instead, the settings stick. So it's something about enabling taa and frame generation together it doesn't like... even though they do work together when i manually force it.
Edit: It's annoying as well because taa gives the best visual result. Guess ill just have to keep manually forcing both every time i start the game because the dlaa implementation in this game isn't as good as ive seen it in other games.
