Forza Horizon 5

Forza Horizon 5

Statistiche:
Do people get satisfaction when they buy out the cheapest bid car instead of the 10x expensive bid one, one slot down with the same buyout?

If I had to guess it probably stems from frustration after losing multiple bids with the "If I can't have it for a low bid price, neither can anyone else".
I think the relevant thing there is 'one slot down'.

People just buyout the first car they see with the price, they don't search the bid prices or anything.

Very much this. Desirable cars often have straight up more demand than supply, so people will just insta-buy on the first one available. This is, of course, not accounting for the people who will buy the whole lot just so they can resell them later, and as a result, don't care about bidding at all in the first place.

Buyouts should NEVER have been an option.

Why not?
I think the problem with the AH lies way more in the ability to snipe cars and the absolutely horrendous price scaling and railroading, including the stupid tuner/painter privileges.

The 'ability to snipe cars' is inherent to allowing buyouts.

I've played forza games off and on since the original motorsport. Forza 2 didn't have this problem, because it's auction house didn't forcibly enable buyouts. By not having those buyouts forcibly enabled, it made it far, far harder for people to 'corner the market' on a given rare/expensive car via mass buyouts.

It's kinda hard to corner the market too much when resale prices are capped though.

And honestly kinda pointless, anyone playing enough to corner the market probably has all the cars anyway, it's not all that hard to do. Especially with the exploits at launch and the time they messed up and let you recollect every wheelspin from car mastery.

My point is that most the really desirable vehicles are explicitly limited in available quantity.

The other option (aside from getting rid of buyouts) is to make it so that people cannot buy a second of any 'limited' vehicle that they already have from the auction house, while also preventing non-auction sales of cars with limited availability.

If you can buy the car in the normal store than there's no reason to be able to buy multiple from the auction house, you should still be able to buy it if you don't have it. I've seen so many cars that have 10+ on the auction house at a time, all being sold from the same account. If the car is a barn find or only available outside of the normal store, then yes, you should only be able to buy/own 1 of them.

Well, then we have a misunderstanding of terms - I was talking about last second bidders sniping the cars because of others not being able to respond anymore.
I see your point, though - it should be a seller's decision if BO is enabled or not.
I appreciate buyout when I need a car for a seasonal event and don't want to mess around with my setup to fulfill prerequistes, for example. I just jump into the AH, buy one, prepare it for the event and afterwards gift it to new player. I can't see myself doing that if I had to wait for regular auction procedures.
