Game freezes when crossing the finish line

Has anyone found a fix for this yet? My game freezes most of the time when crossing the finish line in an online race. The music continues to play so it doesn't appear to be a crash as such but it's so frustrating.
I've tried:
- Updating Windows
- Updating Nvidia driver
- Verifying game files
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the game

Nothing works. I believe this started happening since they released that rally DLC patch

I've got the same issue and haven't found a fix yet. Doing a search online for any possible fixes has yielded no results for a fix. So I'm assuming this is fairly new?

Exactly the same happens to me! Sometimes I have to repeat race because race is not marked as finished/winned - like I had never get raced. Stats get lost, game got crashed. Sometimes have to wait couple minuts until unfreez.
I have no idea how to fix it.

Does it happen to you in any race you do? Mine seems to be online only. The freeze is as if the game wants to do something as I cross the finish line, maybe a save or some kind of server communication but is unable to do so.

Just wait a few min and it will unfreeze. happens to me only once per play session.
