Reward-only cars like the Chevy K10 are a different story. They are only available for a limited time, and depending on how they are made available, players may not be able to obtain duplicates which they might sell later. Occasionally these cars do appear in the auction house, but it's pretty rare, and they often get bought out quickly, because the demand is so much higher than the supply.
I'm not a fan of seasonal content either, mainly because I don't "stay" with any particular game. Usually I play any given game extensively for a few days, weeks, or months, and I generally want to be able to experience all of its content before I'm done with it and move on.
That said, I think FH5 handles its time-limited content in a pretty generous way. You only have to check once every 4 weeks (when a new season starts) to see if there are any cars you want available throughout the season, all you need to do is click through the tabs in the "Festival Playlist" section. Perhaps do another quick check every Thursday to look for unannounced cars in the Forza Points Shop. But in any case, that should really be manageable even for people with very little time. Even if you're only playing for 20 minutes or less per week, this seems doable to me.
