Why does this game never work when I want to play it. If i'm lucky it'll make it to the splash screen with a speedometer for maybe half a frame and like two drum beats of the song and crashes immediately. I use wemod for other games but I know to shut it off and close the program entirely when playing FH5. I have verified my files, reinstalled, I've run as administrator, I've tried compatibility modes. I have tried everything I can think of and I know I'm not the only user with this issue however it feels like the dev team or whoever deals with this on Microsofts end could give a ♥♥♥♥ less and a ton of the community is aware too. It really does suck because the brief amount of time I got with the game was an absolute blast, but I've gotten maybe 4-5 good sessions worth of game play and it has yet to work again no matter what i do. if anyone has any ideas or knows something I may have missed that I should try Please feel free to let me know.

I've had no crashes in over 1000 hours, so I'm probably the worst person to comment.
That said there are more posts for crashes and not being able to play the game at all, than anything else here.

Generally people post in rage then they don't repost if they fix it, so at the moment solutions are a bit of a mess here.

Friends that I know that have fixed it reinstalled windows, drivers only and then the game and it was fine. All that did was eliminated a background process from some app they had installed. If you're going to troubleshoot on your own I'd go into Task Manager and end the tasks for stuff you don't need running and see if it helps. Overlays (EA/Ubi), overclockers, monitoring software, etc)

Sounds like you've done everything else, verified files, admin etc.

My game has started to do this too. Have not played in a bit, thought be good to jump on and have a quick go. I get the same, crashes after PlayGrounds splash screen.
Have done all the normal stuff (verify, VC Drivers, drop settings, etc) no luck. Same crashing.

I see you have wallpaper engine. I have to shut it off or the game will crash every time I play.

Probably some sort program in your windows running it, that cause a crash of your game.
My problem was an antivirus, i'm not sure for your problem, but i know many users experience this problem with a game crash. I know some one need to close explorer.exe, but idk if this solution only for Microsoft version or it's working with steam too. But remember if you turn off explorer.exe from your Task manager, you need to turn it on, press WIN+R and type explorer.exe. But if you look in internet or in discussions on steam, you can find many solutions to your problem. Just serach for well! And reinstalling windows does not work!

So the game doesn't run on a fresh (legal) installation of Windows as it's native windows processes that are crashing the game for 1% of players? Interesting...

If you install clear windows, without any external programs, maybe gonna work, but not sure. 99% of crash cause some sort program that is not compatible with the game!
