I think for "cheat software" the games Anti-cheat is looking for anything capable of reading/writing to memory addresses while the game is active, that, or anything capable of reading/writing/ or injecting information into the data being sent back and forth from the server.
So basically a lot of non cheating apps may fall into that category, you would just have to figure out if you have anything like that on your system.
Apps a I had running at the time were Chrome, Discord, Steam and Task manager nothing else beside whatever other Windows bloatware there might be.
Regardless, anything like Cheat-Engine, or WeMod, or even an open hex editor that is currently reading an address space that the game might use, will trigger the anti-cheat software.
I use 2 overlays, Shadowplay, and MSI Afterburner, But I've used them for years, I never use the Discord Overlay. Not sure. If they ban me im not gonna car much, but I wish they gave you more info.
I also have used Afterburner a lot, for testing games and such...I wonder if the game is starting to implement what a lot of other online games do (CS:GO comes to mind) that won't let you play with performance or recording overlays on.
just some random thoughts while I try and think about this...
Update: Just thought of this....where is the message coming to? email, here on steam, in game? and where is it coming from? like the senders email, or whoever. Is it the same for everyone?
I also don't own the game threw steam, I got it the ms store
Thanks for the info.
*sigh* Well, at least they didn't jump straight to the ban hammer for a likely misdetection like this.
