Has anyone seen this cheat in eliminator?

I was way in the lead (like 2 miles ahead of a level 8 car (mine was 6 audi) and just as I was about to pass the line, it said I was beat by him! 2 miles back? HOW the heck did that happen. It's happened a few times now. Anyone else seen this one?

It happens all the time. It's a good thing I managed to get an Achievement before cheaters started showing up in every Eliminator game.

It's not a cheat but a bug caused by some kind of desync. It happened to me once some time ago but it's very rare.

Cheaters are not that rare in this game, just met a guy with infinite grip randomly chassing and overtake passing vehicles thought he's the lord of all races, too bad (for him) he picked me，I knew that part of map too well trolled him with all shortcuts once I figure out what I'm dealing with.

Good to hear that Arthur! I've won 16 eliminators which isn't many but considering the amount of cheaters, i'm ok with it! LOL

The cheating has been happening for awhile. That exact same thing (in the lead, lose at the finish line) happened to me a couple weeks ago. I quit playing it ages ago because of the cheating. Only play it for the Festival achievement when it comes up.

Hopefully they'll fix everything when they roll out the new Eliminator H2H, 1v1 thingy. Whatever it was they mentioned a few months ago.

Looks more like a desync really, you just haven't seen his real position. This situation was a really common in the first month since Horizon 5 release, now it's quite rare.
I'm playing The Eliminator a lot (220+ wins and counting). And most cheaters I've seen are using obvious speedhacks. And only once I've seen a teleport.

I guess it's possible that it's a sync issue. If it is, then there's no way of fixing it, therefore it completely ruins the game for me. No one even close to me and as soon as I get to the finish someone else takes it. It's also happened a few times trying to get to a car pickup also. No one even around, I get to the drop and someone grabs out out of nowhere and challenges me. I don't know... seems fishy.

If it's happening right after start of the session, that's normal because for some reason game syncing players with some delay. So while you are spawned at the same time and both can see the car drop, you can't see each other for 10-20 seconds.

Very rarely this could happen in the middle of the session, so you think there is nobody around and out of the sudden game syncing someone just next to you. Points that he's going fast and challenge you instantly, I've been on the both sides of this.

Also, sometimes car drops just vanishes when nobody around, I don't know what's causing this, but this happens all the time.

Cheating and/or sync issues... The Eliminator needs a complete overhaul. Hopefully it gets one with the update they mentioned. It's a fun game mode just not lately, for me anyway.

I'm looking forward for "The Eliminati" update too. First info about it was leaked in the last September, I think, and not a word since. I hope it brings not only the Duos mode but a fixes too.

@Sherlok - I've seen the car drops disappear trick, but I actually got a clear video of it, and reported it. The guy was invisible and grabbed a level 7 bronco that appeared right in front of my spawn site. (I thought I was lucky LOL) but then I turned and went for another one and all of a sudden the bronco appeared out of thin air and drove off, while he was driving he then turned himself (including the red dot on map) invisible once again showing me that it was a cheat rather than sync issue. I've also seen quite often a car that shows as being unchallengable (which usually means they are both heading for the finish line, but for the cheaters they just sit there, or drive around casually. When I went over to him he turned from a level 3 quattro, into a level 6 nomad (not sure if means anything but I've seen several people turn from a level 1, 2, or 3 into a level 6 nomad) and once he was a nomad he challenged me and ended up losing anyway. (One good thing about most cheaters is they cheat because they aren't very good at playing the game in the first place so they are pretty easy to beat! LOL)

I have to tell you though I'm getting so tempted to cheat myself just so I can go squash all the other cheaters.

Funny fh4 has way less cheaters, or at least it appears that way. I've won over 100 Eliminators in FH4, and like 18 in FH5. (I need to learn to stop challenging people and just wait till the end run because I always end up challenging someone with my level ten car, and then getting beat because they know which direction to go, or are just better drivers than me.

One feature I wish they had was that you could talk to the other drivers! :) I'm sure I'd get myself banned for calling these script kiddies out though. (I got banned here in discussions for naming a cheater! (Name shaming) LOL, but him, he could do whatever! :
