Yep, I got a canned response with this:

"This account was issued a 5 day suspension for intentional Running cheat software on client alongside game.

Cheating diminishes the hard work and dedication of other players and is a risk to the integrity of the Turn 10 Studios titles. To ensure that Forza remains a fun and fair environment for all players, we cannot tolerate this behavior."

... But I never had any cheat software running alongside game. My account is suspended until October 5th and I still have no clue what software they are banning players for. I was going to play the game with friends until I realized I was suspended.

Now I don't feel like the game is safe to run since it sounds like I am just going to be banned if I run the game.

This game will sometimes detect Discord as cheating software. Don't run anything in the background when you're playing this game and you'll be fine.

The same thing right here with me. From yesterday till 5th October. For no reason without anything running alongside. And without any response from support team

I was given a warning ban for cheats. I have been playing since the release, that is, almost 3 years, played more than 900 hours. Accused of using a cheat program. When I asked the support what program they were talking about, they gave me a permanent ban for 8000 years and disabled online functions. They wrote that I hacked experience, credits and wheelspins. I am shocked.

I just got banned as well. No idea why but it said I was running cheat software alongside the game. I definitely didn't have any cheat software running...

I have no idea what software they mentioned, but I am guessing MSI Afterburner or Discord's overlay. Really disappointed I bought this game now.

No worries, if you did nothing wrong you should be back on to play and it'll help us adjust to anti-cheat. Unfortunately sometimes this happens with anti-cheat

Hi. Can you check my tag Bolt Logan? I was given a warning ban without any restrictions, accused of using a cheat program. When I asked through the support form on the Forza website what kind of software it was, so that I could correct this misunderstanding and not repeat it in the future, I was permanently banned until 12/31/9999 for hacking experience, credits and wheelspins. I did nothing like that. My ticket is #631378.

I'm still waiting for a reply from ~16 days ago on Forza support regarding what software they are flagging as cheat software. I don't feel like the game is safe to run since I was suspended on a fresh install of Windows 11; with 99% of my playing time on Windows 10.

I used Discord to talk to friends while we played Forza. I don't have any new software on my Windows 11 install that I had on Windows 10. Game has turned into a paperweight since then.

They likely won't be able to say what software is causing the suspension/ban since I don't think the support team has that kind of info.

I am feeling like it could be Virtual Desktop, which runs all the time and has gotten a major update recently.

Is it safe to block this game with the windows firewall to prevent being banned? I would like to drive around without worrying about being banned, even if it is offline.

support doesn't say anything about what software caused the ban. They just generously shower you with automatic bans and limit your access to the game.

I mentioned MO2 since I had it running when I got the 1 week ban (Mod Organizer 2 for Fallout and Skyrim). Their response was to close all modding software before launching game.

This is the only game I 'own' that will ban for trying to multitask. It has killed the urge to play the game entirely.

I am pretty confident MO2 was the cause of my ban and I have played since without getting banned. But having to close all software before launching a game on PC is absurd and just punishes the consumer.

So I was playing League and it hit me, not once in thousands of hours have I ever been banned for having MO2, Discord, Cheat Engine, or whatever you're banning people for these days. Not once despite me actually forgetting to close cheat engine on numerous occasions. Given the fact that Riot actually catches cheaters, just reminded me the difference in level of competency between the two companies is astounding.

It might simply just be a difference in how they police their respective games. From what in understand by posts 9 years ago, having anti-cheat running in the background would run the risk of getting a ban with LOL, same as with Forza now. Whether they have changed how they police things in the meantime or you have been lucky is not something I am aware of.

Personally, I think PGG are doing it right with banning people with cheat engine (or similar) running, whether it's interacting with the game or not. My only concern is with the number of people seemingly getting banned for having Discord (or other similar benign program) open in the background given the number of people who use it

Vanguard was recent, that ran regardless though they made a post that it wasn't active unless you're in game, guess they changed it to disable the service if you're not playing Riot games. Before that idk but it was less intrusive than Vanguard. Riot does the sensible thing like preventing you from joining a match if you've got stuff they flag enabled.

As for what PGG is doing, no one knows, cause they literally will refuse to tell you and ban you for asking. So no, they're really not doing it right at all when people are getting banned without knowing why.
