So you had cheats open but didn’t…. Which one is it? Sounds like you had cheats open… by you admitting you had it open…. If it’s open in the background it’s still open.

*when I say "their" I mean all sorts of various games. I think it was an issue for GTA 5 at one point long ago too. People were running discord and getting bans.
the application dont need to inject, hook, access the game in any way.
it just have to be running without doing anything.
on forza banhistory they state it exactly:
"Running cheat software on client alongside game"
if this application is on their blacklist you get a ban.
if they ever put discord, afterburner/riva, obs... on the list the fun starts spreading.
you did nothing wrong.
its an automated overtuned system that bans unjustified.
on the xbox live / microsoft store version you can appeal a ban with a ticket.
no idea if / how it works on steam.
