However they took all the money I made "legally", too. I like grinding out skill points with the hoonV2 and had racked up over 20 million that way.
Yeah, I guess that's the way it goes.
I chose to live the outlaw car simulator lifestyle and I paid the ultimate price.
Vin Diesel would be proud. /s
I bought the premium version of the game which also comes with gifted superwheels, and the possibility to buy one car of your choice for free. Naturally i bought the most expensive car first since i want to buy every model anyway and also just in case i need some quick credits which would have allowed me to sell the car off for good money (the classic Mercedes costs around 130+ million credits if I remember correctly). Keep in mind, i never even used the auction house to buy/sell cars except to search for one once and it was down at the time of trying because of the very exploit that is being discussed in this thread.
On that, you cant sell the car you bought with the free car voucher (to prevent people making $$$ like you said), but at least you dont have to buy it or wait to win it in a wheelspin later.
But I didn't use the exploit (I still don't even know what it was/how it worked) so that's probably why.
This has the AH indefinitely down while the CHEATS are defunded to bring back that part of the Forza Horizon: Mexico. I'm talking about the larger economy. What could PG do but make it simply NORMALLY fair again for the rest of us on FH5 obeying the spirit of the rules and the letter of the rules.
The poor fellow player cheated of his ill-gotten hard-earned prize money, who is the dopey OP writer here, even puts his chosen word "legally" in quotation marks. He did it but "a few times" is all. What a shameless liar.
See how that looks, RedCloud?
Some bigger time thieves, now richer than God, had got all that by doing it longer, constantly, before PG saw them pouring through a hole to get to their illicit 100s of millions. The sneaky bastards knew this was not permissible in the effing game by it's very design. How many of these dillholes lazily and dishonestly got ♥♥♥♥ tons of credits by cheating for as long as PG could not see them? To then be rightly stopped by PG.....confiscation of that 'property.'
Boo effing hoo to any of you at home, you bungholes who cheated not the "game" but the player. The players not here to cheat the system to buy anything and everything they want.
This is a car racing game, not a simulator of you in a car hanging around gas/convenience stores all over the nation map until you spot some AI guy pull in for a snack, leaving his car unlocked w/keys in the ignition for you to steal. This is a race game with podium paydays that are 20 THOUSAND cr., and level up wheelspins that are almost always well under 100 THOUSAND cr.
Which brings us here on this thread to our other bald faced liar, Mildly Confused: NO ONE can get 2 million on "sessions" played in their first/one day. They discovered and did some discovered cheat method on just day two of ownership of FH5. You could not use the AH to sell that car - the Mercedes. You and we know that. Also new customer wheelspins will not give you a million+. I have the deluxe game too.
Mildly Confused, You admit using THE exploit on day TWO of ownership. The 2 million earned (ha!) was not "stolen." You used the "exploit" on day two here.
This is why the AH is no one's to use indefinitely.
I got my first Forza Edition car (Lamborghini Sesto Elemento) less than a day into owning the game through wheelspins. I immediately did Goliath farming no with AI and made hundreds of thousands per win, eventually made my first million and bought the AMG One, did some more farming and got Aston Martin Valhalla along with a few other cars. AFK farming for the Goliath exists too. They gave the ability to play the game without steering. Is it cheating to use that feature?
You know what the first thing I also did was when I bought FH5? I immediately went to the Auction House to scout for cars so I can figure out which cars are currently hot so I can try and snatch them up for the lowest buyout price, so I can sell them back later on for millions. Like what me and many other people did in FH4 with the Ferrari 599XX Evo. Is that considered cheating the system? Sitting around waiting for someone to put a 599XX Evo for 138k buyout, immediately snipe it before anyone else can buy it, wait a couple minutes/hours/days, then sell it back for over 12mil credits? Well call me a cheater because I've bought many 599XX Evos for 138k and sold them back for 12mil in FH4, hundreds of millions right there and the only "effort" put in was refreshing the auction house and sniping it.
If a game adds a gun, and the developers unintentionally gave it the ability to shoot through all walls in the game, that is not the players fault for using the gun. They added it, the ability to shoot through walls was legitimate as they overlooked and added the ability, therefore it is fair play. If you choose not to use the gun, fine. You can sit on your high horse for "not using the best and easiest gun" in the game or take advantage of the fact that the devs overlooked such an obvious issue. But its not our fault that the devs did not to a quality check and dumped a broken item into a game.
BF2042 just added a railgun recently, now I can shoot across maps with no bullet drop and 1HK headshot people. BF2042 allows you to play offline with bots to unlock attachments. I play offline, I farm bots for my attachments, I now have a long range scope unlocked. Now I go online and have an advantage. Is that cheating? Because I didn't unlock it through playing with people. I "exploited" the bots in offline mode.
In BF4, people used to do the smoke grenade and thermal scope combo. Throw a silencer on their gun, throw a smoke grenade, sit in the smoke or on the other side of it, shoot people through the smoke since you can see them but they can't see you. Eventually everyone did it to the point where they buffed the smoke to make it obscure thermal scopes. Was that considered cheating?
BFBC2. Shotgun + slugs = no bullet drop, 100% accuracy. Basically a sniper rifle. Is that cheating too? I take that shotgun onto hardcore servers, where crosshairs are disabled...except with shotguns. So now I can shoot people as far as I can see, with a shotgun, killing them in a single shot. No bullet drop at all unlike sniper rifles. I can outgun snipers...with a shotgun. Throw in infinite ammo too since I play Ammo man. Is that cheating?
Was working the Auction an innate skill and direction you took "first thing when you bought this game? Nope, it was the kind of "skill" :D learned beforehand from the online gamer profs majoring in grifting who appeal to those also predisposed to being greedy and lazy as you get "something for nothing and your chicks for free."
My post is not about your daddy teaching you farming as a lad.
It is about the game breakers who caused PG to have to rework the whole damn Auction House.
Also, if all this is so (above), then you were already a gamer who came here looking for easy easy money in FH5.
Was getting so rich, so quick, fun? Was it eighty to one-hundred dollars worth of a challenge fun?
Is it fun to straight away start gaming this game? It's your $80; work the weaknesses for fun in singleplayer. That is not the problem. But taking the tracktoys you lifted with one or two fingers to online competition?! Online! That is suck ass behavior.
I doubt that they have the kind of granular logging required to determine how much was explicitly from exploits vs how much was from legitimate means. As a result, their options become:
A. do nothiung
B: guess how much was legit vs illegitimate using metrics like game completion rate and playtime
C. Just subtract an arbitrary percentage
It seems they've chosen B. To be perfectly honest, I have a really hard time seeing a functional reason for having upwards of about 125 million at max. Even if all you are doing is about 5 races per car you upgrade and buy (outside of some of the high end hypercars and ultra-rare classics, or AH purchases of seasonals), you will still be gradually gaining credits. Realistically, just doing the first seasonal objective every season and then selling off the ones you don't enjoy on the AH a few weeks after their availability is up (once the AH comes back, anyway) will keep you at a surplus of credits, between that and the wheelspins you earn by playing naturally to begin with.
You have apparently been the victim of thieves or at the receiving end of a good trashing by cheaters in other games, I'm so sorry you had to endure such a tragedy at your young age. No other reason to explain the disproportional hostility and ignorance to what is being presented in the post.
Anyways....English speakers use quotation marks for a few different reasons. I used them for that word, because people like yourself are confused about what is exactly happening.
I'll let you in on a little secret......I paid for the game I was referring to.
I love you, too.
This is an OPEN WORLD DRIVING GAME FIRST AND FOREMOST, not a track focused racing game. You wanna go around racing hard and pushing your cars to the limit, hitting all the racing lines and braking zones, thinking you're Lewis Hamilton and be a track star, Forza Motorsport exists for that reason, the rest of the players will continue to do as they please which is to DRIVE AND ENJOY THEIR CARS THE WAY THEY WANT. Most games ESPECIALLY THE FORZA HORIZON SERIES are meant to be fun. Challenge is not a requirement for ANY game, it is optional. Movies do not require deep thought provoking story lines with deep character development to be good, they are optional and this applies to games.
There are plenty of games where there is no progress and unlocks with great player retention. Ready or Not, Squad, Hell Let Loose. Ground Branch is a good example of a good game that will NEVER have unlocks and progression systems. You know why? Because the devs know one thing and have explicitly stated. You paid for the game and its contents, you shouldn't have to waste your time unlocking guns and outfits and go through some progress wall to have fun. The other listed games don't need progression to retain players because they are well thought out and good games. The entire point of games like these is to be able to hop on, and do what you want, without having to think about your progress or competitive edge and what to do. You should be able to hop in, pick whatever you want to use, and do what you want. I don't need to think about what guns/attachments to pick in BF2042, BF4, or any other BFBC2. I have acquired the equipment either through playing and earning them, or just outright buying them. Hell, in BFBC2, I joined exp boosted servers to immediately unlock everything. I don't need to worry about anything. I can join any of the listed BF games, and have fun. I can choose to be competitive and use the best equipment, or use whatever I like, and not have to think about how to unlock this or that. I paid my dues by paying for the game. The game should not have to tell me when I can start playing online with other people. You wanna spend 1000hrs to unlock everything? Go ahead. I will continue to buy certain games early so I can get a head start and immediately work on unlocking everything so I can have fun further down the road and not miss out on anything and play as I please instead of doing challenges to unlock one gun. You think I'm here to play shooting games to complete challenges and unlock guns? ♥♥♥♥ no. I'm here to hop online onto a server, to annihilate players, THAT IS THE FOCUS AND THE CHALLENGE, not unlocking ♥♥♥♥. You think I'm here playing Horizon 4/5 to be a track star? Forza MOTORSPORT exists for that. I'm here to drive what I want, when I want, in whatever way I want. I don't need to be racing people or the AI. I don't need to have Head-to-Head enabled and I don't. I am here to hop into my car of choice, and drive around. If I feel like doing an event and racing, I will do that. If not, I won't. The game shouldn't dictate what I have to do. I shouldn't have to do an event online to unlock Forza Link. I don't need to play online with people.
Its also a moot point for FH5 considering the game throws away cars for free when you own Car Pass and any other DLCs. You wanna sit around and "earn your track toys". Good for you. The rest of the world will play the game as intended which is to buy their dream cars ASAP and enjoy them virtually because many of us will never get the chance to own a Mercedes AMG-One. Which is the entire point of games, to be able to do things and enjoy things that is otherwise not possible in real life. No racing game should be like the latest Gran Turismo where the cars are priced just like their real life counterparts and you have to earn millions to be able to enjoy an already impossible to acquire track focused race car by doing hundreds or thousands of races with low payouts as if it was real life.
