Can I actually free roam and do races with my friend from steam?
I just wanna vibe on the roads. Not a competitive player. I just like customising cars visually.
Also which game has more 80s-90s JDM cars? FH4 or FH5?

Cheers

Cant answer the last question but the title.

Yes with the convoy system.

You can add each other into convoy using Xbox gamebar (pc) and whatever xbox uses

FH4 had a bug with Logi G29 steering wheel -like steering wheel inputs' lagging. If you want to drive Initial D cars, go with FH5. It has touge (probably Akina Mt.). Additionally, there is no new (2015+) Nissan Sentra in Horizon 5..

I will be using a controller. So wheel is not a priority.

Yea tbh Initial D cars are what I am after. Dont really like new designs

There is no big difference in the amount of 80s/90s JDM cars between FH4 & 5 (if there is a difference at all). However, rear wheel drive handling is much better in 5, and since a lot these cars have that, 5 might be the better choice.

About JDM cars: FH4 definitely has more, or at least the same amount. Maybe you didn't know, but all cars from FH5 came from FH4, except few 2020-2022 cars like BMW M4, Audi e-tron, etc. They simply transfer all cars from FH4 to FH5.
Basically if a car exists in FH5 it is also exists in FH4, but the opposite is not always true (yet). So, FH4 has more cars

True, but FH5 is not done (re)introducing cars. Also, I am not aware of JDM cars missing from FH4, plus Toyota came back later in FH4 and I'm not sure if their cars are readily available in the autoshow there.
