my xbox controller no longer works

ive been using a xbox one controller since the game released but now when i load up the game it just doesnt work and its only on this game even though ive used it every other time before. steam loads configs and everything too but once the game starts up its as if i dont even have a controller connected. suggestions?

Might try just removing the device from your system and re-pairing it... Could be a steam thing, could be a forza thing... With this game, it's hard to tell. It's usually the game.

It’s definitely a game thing because controller works fine with my other steam games

Make sure you have right clicked FH5 in steam, go to properties, controller and in the drop down box make sure steam input is DISABLED.

The game features native xbox controller support complete with impulse trigger support and using steam input will override this and not only disable impulse triggers, but can cause other issues such as double inputs. It's probably not a stretch to assume that your issue could be caused by steam trying to override the game's native controller support.

Mine works fine with FH5, I know that doesn't help you but it must be something your end.

I thought I'd check my controller settings in Steam to see if I had changed anything to make it work originally and they are set to default.

Im getting a bug where the game does not know what Im trying to use. Im using a Xbox controller and in game its like it thinks im using my keyboard to play as well. Causing flickering of keyboard inputs and controller inputs. And un-controllable gameplay. Anyway to fix this? Game use to work great.

The same thing happened to me because I was running the executable as administrator, due to the crashes of the game. Disabling this the controller worked again.
