Will we ever get an improved/fixed freeroam chat?

I know when the game first came out there was open voice chat in freeroam, but no way to mute players so they opted to remove the voice chat altogether. The "Forza Link" phrases can be handy when racing but they're a bit cheesy to use and only being able to keybind two at a time is also lame.

The limited chat functionality makes it difficult to organize any type of cruise or event with surrounding players which I feel like is a basic and important feature for an immersive online experience. Will we ever get a fix? Bring back voice chat but with a "mute" option for each player from the mini map? Maybe a text chat that auto-filters spam and unnecessary content? At the very least a few more slots for Forza Link phrases...

Really doubt it, mostly because of moderation purposes.

MS knows that the majority of humans are walking trashpiles hence creating such barebones solutions instead of real moderating which ofc costs far more money.

So no. Since they limit such stuff further and further.. I can see fh 6 being totally silent without even forza link stuff.

Xbox gamebar exists and you can always find the person you're seeing infront of you there and direct message them.
Can also make a group chat there if people have enough brain power to figure out that function exists.

Only problem is that software is so half baked that some might not receive any notifications at all.

And in terms of moderation, if they made gamebar be so strict about what you tell to a random person in that chat (i got suspended for a whole day for saying the F word)
They'd trully have no problem implementing in-game chat.

The only thing i can think of for them not adding it, is to keep the PG rating at 3.
Having an open chat opens a doorway to bullying and forza players are rather unstable bunch of players i've experienced in my gaming career, so they're just not risking it.
But thats just me guessing
