Last fun thing i did was either work as a drag strip christmas tree with a countdown horn... Or just chase people in my police Bugatti with police siren horn (actually fun when you have 3 random people join you up in a chase and they all blasting police siren, while chasing a lvl 8 civic :D)
What do you generally think about the map? I think it's pretty bad honestly. And FH4 wasn't the best either but I think better. The rumors before the game was released were that it would've been set in Japan and I think that would've made for a much better map. although annoying as it would've been the third right-hand-drive game in a row.
Me, I love cars, and love them in their purest form so they don't lose their unique personality. I personalize them a bit, just drive them around, enjoy their sounds, test them, race them, etc.
My sessions are usually choosing a type of car (hatchbacks, sedans, SUV's, specific brands, rival brands, etc), making a magazine/car show comparison by testing each of them at the main track with no A.I drivers to see which car of that type gets the best lap times. Doing 1/4 miles, top speed tests, etc. After I'm done with a car, I usually do a custom race to keep the money flowing in case I miss a prize car and have to buy it at the Auction House
For example: which Honda is the best Honda, or a 70's muscle car comparison, a 90's JDM shootout, M vs AMG vs RS, just to randomly name a few things. I just use my imagination, fueled by my passion for the car industry.
I also use a wheel and like to change my shifter from LHD to RHD depending on the car, switch between paddles or fully manual with clutch, again, depending on the car.
When I'm not doing my dumb "playing pretend to be a car journalist/test driver" with my little virtual toy cars, I'm spending hours if not days creating tracks.
This is a sandbox and I play it as such.
This is just my example of how I have fun with my game. I know it sounds like some autistic kid's fantasy, but I am too old to give a rat's rear. I personally don't care about multi-player, or ranks or accolades, stories, or whatever. I make my own fun with what the game gives me. After all, I paid $100 for it. I'm going to enjoy it however I want and get the best out of it.
And hey, if being competitive, racing against others, max tuning everything and using the game as nothing more but a tool to prove you're a better player than others, is where you find joy, then do that as well.
If you feel like you need to find something to do and you don't really get much out of your own game loop, then it's probably time to give the game a break. Wait for the expansions and play something else.
Don't force yourself liking things, life is short, spend your videogaming time on things you enjoy and have fun with.
As with horizon... Meh, it's subjective.
There are a few eye candy spots and volcano road is a treat for touge/drifting, but otherwise the roads get boring really quickly.
Thought Solar Crow took place in Hiong Kong which has nothing top do with Japan.
The onlyt racing game taking place in Japan AFAIK is Assetto Corsa with mods
Playing like that sounds fantastic! I actually love cars too, and I generally disslike modifying the cars with performance parts too much but i'm forced to so I can even keep up with my friends riced out cars. There's a joke between me and my friend that he's always ruining the cars with bodykits or the Forza Spoiler which genrally isn't even needed unless you're into Goliath or anything where speed in corners and such is needed for the stability in the back. Although an unwritten rule between us are that we keep the stock engines.
Lately, I've managed to get my friend and another of his friends to race with completely stock cars of a cerain era or make. Last time we did 90s JDM with max power of 200-220hp and it was a blast. Only issue is that if you don't limit the options a lot, the AI will typically always choose the "best" car and gives them an unfair advantage. You could also turn them off but we like the added challange of racing the AI so it's a fair game as we're working as a team instead of pvp'ing and getting mad when someone accidentally maybe bumps into someone else making them spin etc. Main reason why I avoid PVP in this game since FH3. Even with AI I race as clean as possible, braking and not touching others in corners etc, it's more fun compared to just smash into every wall and or AI car to overtake them.
I will most def give this a try after I've finished "collecting" every road and then doing all the speed traps etc because it bothers my autism when I leave stuff like this unfinished. Also this gives me something to do and drive some of my favorite cars around with a "goal"
I'll have to check out the blueprint planner for races. Would love to set up more track-focused and rally tracks to play myself or with friends.
I "like" the game. While it DEF isn't my favorite game to play, I still spent the 100 Euro on it and feel like I still have to get a bit more mileage out of it so I don't feel like I wasted that money since I rarely buy any new games and rather spend my money on driving my actual hothatch irl, some new mods or PC parts. Just need a few ideas and inspiration of new ways playing the game.
Its probably set in a fictional location that is close to hong kong, idk... Don't really care for city streets tbh
Sorry but no, it is not a fictional location and it is not Japan.
