GPU at 100%
The moment I have the game loaded, my PC crashes. I checked my Task Manager and the game uses up 100% of my GPU. I have a 5700XT, and the only way I can play the game is at the lowest settings and resolution scale. I have done all the basic stuff, like updating my drivers and closed everything else besides the game and no dice. Is it just the game, and I need to wait for an update for the game or my drivers??

Hows about you stress test? https://www.geeks3d.com/furmark/
This way you know for sure its your GPU/PSU.

You could also use this for the PSU. https://www.ocbase.com/

And maybe even cap the FPS using RivaTuner to 24fps say, this will lower the load of all the system by force. And maybe even build up to an acceptable level.

Maybe even lower the number of CPU cores the games uses in Task Manager. This could free up more watts for the GPU.

Driver settings. Cant remember but does AMD have a power slider, lower the maximum wattage the GPU can take, forcing a lower clock speed.

Troubleshooting will give you the best idea of whats wrong along with the threads suggestions.

its an antec 650W. I've had it since I built the PC alittle over 7 years ago I would say

I previously owned an MSI 5700XT Gaming X that would reach 110C hotspot temps, had to re-paste the GPU to get the temps back in line. Having said that, my system never completely crashed because of my GPU getting that hot.

I have however, had my system hard crash and restart whenever I had XMP enabled on my motherboard to get the RAM running at 3600MHz. My CPU is a 3700X from AMD, and I've read that sometimes they have memory controllers that just don't play nice with high speed memory.

i dont think i have XMP enabled to my knowledge. Would the same issue with the 3700X, happen with the 3900X? Thats what I have, so I'm wondering if they would have the same issue

You want 100% gpu, otherwise it's wasted performance. Cpu however you want less than 100% as it's the brain of the pc. 100% cpu means gpu can't perform it's best.

Alright, so I have fixed my problem. It was my graphics card. I replaced the thermal paste on the graphic and no it runs at normal temps and doesn't make my PC crash. Thank you to everyone who helped me out.
3900x + 5700xt here, yea my pc completely shutdown when first intro, also lowered fps cap to 72 doesnt work, it still happen

God I'm jealous if you can get your GPU to 100%, I can't get my CPU, RAM, or GPU above 25% while playing this game, it refuses to take advantage of my hardware and runs like total ass.

Personally I'm not effected, but a lot of people are experiencing crashes, the support team on twitter already wrote some instructions on how to possibly get around the issue, also confirming that they're working on a fix. Nothing wrong on your end most likely.

Absolutely NOT, there is a huge difference between 99% GPU utilization and 100% utilization. It should never be 100% utilized, a simple matter of how Hardware is functioning in a real life scenario.
A 99% GPU usage actually translates to the max/desired GPU utilization you should have.
There is always a small percentage "reserved" for the hardware/software itself, whether it be storage, cpu, gpu, psu.

I really hate that there is so much misinformation out there where people easily and without a doubt claim that 100% utilization is fine, which can eventually lead to failure and damage.
Absolutely HORRIBLE community advice

Just ask an IT/Hardware/Software engineer, I did....

You feeling better now? Splitting hairs over something so irrelevant and unnecessary?
OP already clarified that the gpu usage isn't the issue, and 9/10 people will mean 99% when claiming it's at 100%. Calm down rambo
