Whats the point of the auction house when you can just buy any car in the shop?
I dont get it? You can buy any car, download a good setup/livery for it. So why would you buy on in the AH?

some cars you cant buy

You can buy some cars you need several times cheaper compared to the shop (when people are dumping cars they don't need).

Also you can buy forza edition cars (with special persk built in them) without having to grind some challenge in order to get them.

Discounts, mostly.

I put up a Lambo worth 800K+ for 200K.

Though someone decided to just buy it out for the 800k lol

As others have stated, cars eventually get released via events that you cannot buy in the normal auto show or Forzathon shop, limited time events. Those cars typically sell for the most and become the rarest though by the games end of life, like FH4, these cars get more and more common.

The other advantage is you can buy cars for a fraction of the cost compared to the autoshow but mainly for the most common / rare cars. Epic and Legendary typically stay around the autoshow price, typically.....

SO its better to put your cars you dont need on the AH instead of selling them ingame then? And didnt know you could give/sell away challenge cars etc!

Because shiny spinning wheels and lootboxes are not enough, you have to appeal to the auction/betting addicts in sportsgames in 2021.

You would usually not really want to do that. Many challenge cars end up being extremely sought after as there is no other way to get them outside of the seasonal challenge. To top it all off, a good chunk of these end up being the most competitive cars on PVP.

Depends on car. Supply and demand still apply, cars that are of little value or drop commonly might be hard to sell. You might be able to sell wheelspin-only car at more than their base value, but cheap autoshow cars may not sell even at minimal bid.

How do you know if a car is wheelspin or challenge etc only?

Checking the Autoshow, if its not on sale there then it will be only available via one of the other methods, challenge, wheelspin or with FH5, accolades perhaps.

I think this is just noobs ripping noobs off. Saw a £20k Peugeot being bidded for £120k. Once the game opens up the prices will sort themselves out.

It happens, you also have the issue of people grinding car mastery points to then get cars they have credit unlocks, if they can buy a car for 10k or less and it gives them a credit unlock of 50k credits, people do it for credit farming.

Well they did in FH4 any way lol, probalby 3 too though I didnt see much of it in FH3.
