Edit:
Just a reminder though, if you don't have a microphone plugged in the game will default to the one built into the ps5 controller. So if you don't want that, make sure to turn off the open mic setting in game.
I've played with my PS4 controller so far and had a fun problem:
RB (accelerator pedal) no longer works 100%, via telemetry I saw that I only reach 80%, although I fully press the button.
And I wonder why I lose every run
BRB, gonna go check that.
Edit:
All good, 100% accel, and brake for that matter.
No, just a defective controller after 5 years. So you actually playing with a DualSense? Can you tell if the "haptic" features are supported? I have to buy a new controller so I want to get all information before! thank you very much
I have to admit I'm not fully familiar with all the features this thing is supposed to do. Feels fine and responsive for me, rumble definitely works. Funny enough I don't have a ps5, just the controller that I bought at the beginning of the year for the purpose (at the time) of red dead 2/online. I can say it's still working as good as the day I bought it after 800 hours split between rdr2/online and 480 in horizon 4.
Okay, this sounds great. So I'll give it a try, maybe i just buy xbox and ps5 controller and return one after testing. but i dont like the xbox controller, I played all my lifetime on ps controllers and the button layout of xbox controller maybe is too different
Nope, "haptic" features are not supported by Forza. Grips on DualSense feels the same as on DualShock.
Maybe DualSense has a better vibration, I'm not sure because have not used DualShock for a while
Thankfully steam supports adding non steam games, which apparently is a magic wand solution for adding controller support.
Well, there ya go.
Okay, do you know which "special features" are supported on a xbox controller in FH5? Is there something like adaptive triggers?
adaptive trigger and "haptic feedback" supported too in FH5? But im not sure if the xbox controller have such features...
I can confirm that the PS5 DualSense controller is fully supported in Forza Horizion 5 (FH5) Steam Edition.
Thanks to the Steam Controller Support, it works via "Plug and Play", no DS4 or 3rd party drivers / software required.
Only the keyboard mapping in Forza is incorrect (Xbox keys are displayed instead of PS keys), but the controls still work normally. You just have to "rethink" a bit, but that is no longer a problem after 1-2 hours.
The vibration is also transmitted to the controller, examples:
1. Dirt underground
2. With manual transmission, the controller vibrates when you are close to the red speed range
3. If the car is oversteered / understeered, the controller will also vibrate slightly
