PS5 DualSense Controller with FH5?
Does anyone have any experience whether the PS5 controller works with Forza Horizon 5?

I suspect that since there is no "native support" in the game, some features of the DualSense will not work.

But does FH5 generally work with the PS5 controller?

As long as you're playing through steam, it should work just fine. Mine does.

Edit:
Just a reminder though, if you don't have a microphone plugged in the game will default to the one built into the ps5 controller. So if you don't want that, make sure to turn off the open mic setting in game.

Thanks for the fast answer!

I've played with my PS4 controller so far and had a fun problem:

RB (accelerator pedal) no longer works 100%, via telemetry I saw that I only reach 80%, although I fully press the button.

And I wonder why I lose every run

I hope your PC explode ... PS5 Controller -.- ... no i would say just try it my Wheel is a T300 it is the PS3/PS4 Version and works i dont see the X or the O Buttons there are 1 or 2 or 3 Buttons but it worked

That is a "fun" problem. I don't think that's an issue with the ps5 dualsense, but I haven't paid that close attention to my telemetry yet.

BRB, gonna go check that.

Edit:
All good, 100% accel, and brake for that matter.

No, just a defective controller after 5 years. So you actually playing with a DualSense? Can you tell if the "haptic" features are supported? I have to buy a new controller so I want to get all information before! thank you very much

I have to admit I'm not fully familiar with all the features this thing is supposed to do. Feels fine and responsive for me, rumble definitely works. Funny enough I don't have a ps5, just the controller that I bought at the beginning of the year for the purpose (at the time) of red dead 2/online. I can say it's still working as good as the day I bought it after 800 hours split between rdr2/online and 480 in horizon 4.

Nope, "haptic" features are not supported by Forza. Grips on DualSense feels the same as on DualShock.
Maybe DualSense has a better vibration, I'm not sure because have not used DualShock for a while

Personal preference for how it feels in your hands aside, the xbox controllers main advantage would be better native support in windows in general, while the ps5 dualsense only works through steam, or using another third party program.

Thankfully steam supports adding non steam games, which apparently is a magic wand solution for adding controller support.

Okay, do you know which "special features" are supported on a xbox controller in FH5? Is there something like adaptive triggers?
dynamic Nov 6, 2021 @ 2:09am
I'll buy both and then write a detailed post about the different features. I searched reddit and the web but I dont find any detailed information about that. Maybe its helpful for some ppl.. .

First of all, thank you all who answered me!

I can confirm that the PS5 DualSense controller is fully supported in Forza Horizion 5 (FH5) Steam Edition.

Thanks to the Steam Controller Support, it works via "Plug and Play", no DS4 or 3rd party drivers / software required.

Only the keyboard mapping in Forza is incorrect (Xbox keys are displayed instead of PS keys), but the controls still work normally. You just have to "rethink" a bit, but that is no longer a problem after 1-2 hours.

The vibration is also transmitted to the controller, examples:

1. Dirt underground
2. With manual transmission, the controller vibrates when you are close to the red speed range
3. If the car is oversteered / understeered, the controller will also vibrate slightly

Unfortunately, I couldn't test the Xbox controller because it wasn't available in black at the local electronics retailer, and I didn't want to return two devices.
