Question about the codes from the Limited Forza Controller
Can I get the items on the Steam version even if I have to redeem the codes in the Microsoft Store?

good question, most likely you can't, and the controller itself is " limited " so i hope we'll see the car as a " forza gift " for everyone later, but i hope it won't turn into a separate dlc

I recently ordered the controller and am also wondering how I will be able to redeem the code.

I ordered the controller only for the codes, when i can't use them in the Steam version, then I cancel this order. xD

Yes the codes are for the Windows Store version, not Steam.

There's no where to enter the code in game, only on the Windows Store on a Xbox. The controller was made for Xbox consoles primarily.

But I think u must connect your Steam with Microsoft Store like in Forza Horizon 4.
So maybe it works, but I will see.

No you connect to the Xbox servers if you play on Steam, not the Microsoft Store. There's literally nowhere to enter the code on Steam.

Everyone knows how to enter codes on Steam thanks, the issue is that the codes provided with the controller are not Steam codes, they're Xbox Store/Microsoft Store codes.

Maybe this time they will have a code system in-game

No it won't.

I found out some more information about how this digital content is added to the game, it uses a system called Digital Direct. Digital Direct doesn't actually use codes, it links straight to the console (on Xbox ) or on the Windows Xbox App.

This won't work on Steam as there is no way to open the Xbox App from within Steam itself, as the Xbox App is a Microsoft Store app.

Well I will remain hopeful.

Either way I will likely keep the controller as my old one broke. It's only one exclusive car right?

Yes as far as I'm aware. You have a good reason to get the controller irrespective of the exclusive car, and would I as I would use it to play Game Pass on my Android phone (as the controller has built in bluetooth) , so not just for playing Forza. That makes it a good purchase imo.

Have you played the game to be able to give such info?

How would I play an unreleased game? Big brain you got there.
And I already linked where I got "such info" trying reading it.

People like you are why I hate discussions.
