question: what's the point of destruction abilities
like leveling up int doesn't up the damage, leveling up the ability doesn't change the damage(but costs more mana)
using a different staff doesn't up the damage
and all of the skills(that i've tested) do about the same damage in the same way
now tell me what's the point of these spell like abilities???

Spells scale with intelligence.
Each spell deals different but somewhat similar damage for it's own tier. and level based on the type of spell it is.
Some have bigger potential, some have lower potential but instant damage.

Staff does NOT affect the damage of spells. Only mage armor does. Staff itself is a weapon which scales with wisdom.
Skills which give 'spell damage' are the one which boost the power of spells.
Skills which give 'attack' only affect basic attack(in your case staff)

Yeah this. As far as I have gotten no weapons impact spell damage or give secondary stats. Secondary stats such as increased mana, spell damage, ranged damage etc. comes from equipment. Part of the reason why ranged is so strong. Ranged is attack damage, with scaling from equipment, with scaling from abilities. No in game tooltip for how int impacts each spell individually though, but int does increase spell damage.

at 366 int with my current setup it seems to be around a 25%-33% increase from level to level going from an average of around 85k per hit on frost shot 1 and 150k with frost shot 4 in my quick test

at 110 int i do 1300 at lv 1 fireball(or most similar spells) and at lv 3 i do 1900
which seems like a 14% increase

interesting definitely seems different per spell
