Okay. I'm not crazy here right? It's nearly impossible to get to the other side of the map in one day and find what you're looking for. I barely made it to lettuce in the northern swamp before I had to teleport back home. I'm not sure how I'll manage to get the other things in there. I sprint for now, because the broom and waypoints are not open to me yet.

Are those mounts worth it? Do they save enough time to run all the way out there, rent it, and then get to where you need to get? I'm becoming super frustrated.

Yeah, I feel the same. I think it's on purpose. And I like it, that's quite demanding. I found a leek and lettuce, still need to go for berries and.... the 4th thing, don't remember what it was. I think it would be easier/simple when we get the broom later. Also curious about the mounts.

Well, I rented a mount, and have purchased a mount now. The rented one did shave off quite a bit of time and I was able to finally reach some areas with less frustration. At least in the swamp, I haven't tried the desert yet. The purchased mount needs to be trained up before it's quicker than sprinting. It does, however, have saddle bag slots, so I think that it will be my preferred mode of travel for the far off places.

Still frustrated, but a tiny bit less.

There are teleportation altars (7 in total?) which can be unlocked.
Below are the soonest they can be unlocked if you did some research and planned to save needed materials.

1. Cliffs altar can be unlocked in your first month (bloom)

These all can be unlocked in your second month (Storm)

2. Town can be unlocked in second month as it needs roses (use insta grow potion to get them right after storm month starts).

3. Desert needs faceplant from Storm season.

4. Steppes needs shy tomato from Storm season.

5. Swamp needs parrot waxcap from Storm season.

6. Lake needs Wolfs bane from Bask season (third month).
*also scarlet cups, which can be saved from Bloom.

7. Hills need oceans quill from Harvest seasons (fourth month).

Yeah, i'm a day away from the end of Storm. I had zero idea that I had to add the essences to the plant and not the finished produce so i screwed that up completely. Not a lot of guidance in game =/ And the place I read online was wrong info.

There is official wiki and from what I have been looking at, it has been accurate so far.

Wait, what? How to unlock them? I triet to "talk to them" but it only gives some message and that's all... Where to put those items?

The ground mount isn't worth it. It goes slower on the up hill and down hill, and it takes like a mile to turn. LOL. In a straight line, it'll probably save you some time but otherwise? Nope. Over all, you're faster walking. Fix your broom up.

I use the mount for extra storage when I out gathering, otherwise its usually easier for me to run as the mounts are tricky to use on stairs etc. If im going to the desert or swamp I run and try not to stop to gather because time is ticking, I agree its frustrating but when you get the broom, everything will feel a lot better!

I've spent a game year on foot due to a bug early on and while yes, it's challenging, you can get to anywhere (except high of course where only broom works) in one day as long as you make a plan. The mounts do help if you buy one and feed it proper foods to increase it's stats.

Are you sure you are interacting with a teleportation altar?
You need to go to the destination altar, for example in the steppes, and click on that.
It will open an interface in which you can add the needed items (if you click the "ritual" button, it will show what it needs to start working, but you can look it up in wiki also).
