They are looking to monetize the absolute alien squeeze out of this....Just looking at all the "packs" and theres at least 4 "seasons" of crap... Its very, very off putting.... Say it comes out and I love it; if I wanted everything ; how man thousands of dollars is going to cost when all the crap is done being made for it??????

This is what sucks about a lot of games now a days... You cant own everything for some games unless your filthy rich, so I just dont get involved in the first place with them.

Im looking like I might just end up avoiding this too

I pre-ordered the deluxe edition. I'm weary. My expectation is it will be as good as WWZ when it launched, hopefully without the server and technical issues it had. Even if this game ends up just being average that's enough for me. I just want to play against some aliens again, and I'm hoping the you didn't jump the shark and announce 4 Seasons of content that you might not be able to fulfill. People are still bummed about colonial marines to trust a new alien game, albeit a little unreasonably, considering that most alien games are good and that game ended up so bad due to purposeful sabotage and mishandling by the infamous Gearbox and greasy slimeball Randy Pitchford. Also, please make sure to release some Aliens Fireteam Elite Steam Wallpapers, Emojis, Profile Pics, Avatars, and Avatar frames (Hopefully animated!) Or even release a full Game Profile set that steams doing now! Because I and many people here would love to deck their profile with some cool Alien stuff!

No, AvP2010 is a reboot, therefor its own franchise. we never had an avp 3 and we never will.

It's AVP 3. Not a reboot. It's just a dumb name gimmick that was popular at the time where you don't number the sequel. And even if it was a reboot it would still be in-franchise. I couldn't find any sources claiming its a reboot, and almost everywhere lists it as AVP 3, and it's developed from the same team as AVP 1 (Although AVP 2 was developed by a different team.)

"Aliens vs. Predator, also referred to as Aliens vs. Predator 3 or AVP3 to distinguish it from earlier titles, is a 2010 video game developed by Rebellion and published by SEGA for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It is a sequel to Aliens versus Predator 2, although it does not have any connection with that game's plot. Instead it charts events on the planet BG-386, sometime after Alien3, where a Weyland-Yutani research team led by Karl Bishop Weyland has discovered a Yautja Pyramid, and is simultaneously studying the Xenomorphs found there and hoping to unlock the advanced technology contained within. The Aliens soon escape, prompting a response from the United States Colonial Marine Corps, while the Predators also send three of their members to investigate.
Aliens vs. Predator is the fifth game in the Alien vs. Predator franchise. As with previous titles, it features three campaigns, one for each race/faction (the Predators, the Aliens and the Colonial Marines). These campaigns are separate in terms of individual plot and gameplay, but form one overlapping storyline."

From the official fandom wiki. And yes, this is reputable even though it's from a wiki. Even Rebellion (the devs of AVP 1 and 3) have referenced and called AVP 2010 "AVP3" on community posts and in replies on their YouTube channel.

AVP 2010 is a reboot. if it was AVP3 they would have called it so. Also that game was horrible. spent more time killing synthetics than Aliens or Predators.

As I have said, the developers themselves HAVE called it so in their own words. And the whole "If it was AVP 3 then they would have called it that" argument means nothing in this industry. In both movies and film it is common place to name a sequel the same name as the original with no numbering. God Of War did it, DOOM did it, Halloween did it (With a re-do sequel of 2). Yes, it's incredibly dumb, but for some reason a lot of people in these industries apparently think not numbering sequels sells. It's a sequel, not in my words, but in the developers own words. End of discussion.
Also about your opinion on the game: Cool beans bro. I quite enjoy the game but to each his own.

i pre ordered Aliens fireteam elite deluxe edition and i cant wait to shoot some xeno's in style this august .

i buy the game without looking into it properly and i will not regret it as i feel going blind folded is the best way to enjoy games these days i have avoided watched anything that would spoil the games surprises and i also kept my expectation to a normal level.

i feel to many people get over hyped and ruin it for themselves look at cyberpunk as a example of how people can act so many people got so worked up and blasted the game for the things it was not and did not enjoy what it had to offer and that is a true pity, for me with that game i did the same as i am doing with aliens fireteam or "AFT" going in blind as it makes for a better experience.

as long as i can blast aliens to a pile of slag on the floor and give a queen a pasting she will never forget i know this will turn out to be a good game.

Rebellion did AVP (2000) that was an amazing game at the time. Them Monolith did AVP2, Rebellion then made AVP (2010) and said it was it's own game, and not a follow on from AVP2.

I did enjoy the single player, but MP was ♥♥♥♥ other than survivor.
