no difference dx11 dx12 dx12 ultimate,in game settings, software settings, sometimes eye candy isnt the answer if your not enjoying your game due to stutters freezes ect, lower settings can be benifical and make the experince better^^
I just managed to pass that room. The reason I kept losing? Bots kept on standing their ground in the middle of the arena and died immediatly.
This time they actually followed me and survived, tanking every attacks so I was free to shoot AND protect my meatshields.
And also I wasn't aware I had to do the entire game with only M37A3 pump shotgun.
This weapon makes anything else irrelevant given how broken strong it is.
I used to mix things up with weapon swaps but just going full pump action made everything much better.
5-1 is harder than any mission in the base game and the hardest part the finale cant really be cheesed - you can cheese a few doors earlier in the game in multiplayer to create 1 way chokes but solo those doors will close when you go in to trigger the obj.
The reason its hard is because there are a lot of double elite spawns,
-The very first event where you scan the crusher body has 2 warriors,
-While finding the 2nd demo charge you have to fight 2 crushers,
-When you return to the blocked door theres an ambush with 2 more elites (either 2 crushers or a warrior and a pretorian)
-Detonating the 2nd charge theres 2 warriors at the same time alone with a bunch of prowlers/bursters
-At the finale theres 3 spawns of 2 elites which is brutal as the last area doesnt have much space to work with.
On casual/standard it really shouldn't matter what class you pick most should be capable but:
-Gunner has the highest DPS thanks to overclock, remote detonator is decent CC and has access to some extra mobility which can help you kite.
-Technician is probably the next best as the coils can be used to help kite and the turret will help kill the fodder for you while you focus the elites and with a pistol+shotgun and 55-95% bonus damage you can dish out some serious damage.
-Demo is great for runners but has very low damage for elites and 5-1 is an elite heavy mission so hes not advised for 5-1
-Recon is amazing but is more of a team support/team damage amplifying class so i wouldn't advise it for solo play.
The main strategy for elites is to save your use your consumables.
Kinda hard when you're solo as you are kinda low on equipment but when faced with 2 elites at the same time i would burn a vuln drone for the damage boost, you find a vuln and a cryo in the finale so you will have at least 1 for that fight.
If you are struggling its worth looking at using some cards to help you, with so many elites maybe we got em demoralised goes a long way, extraordinary weapons for more bullet damage or overstimulated to get your overclock/grenade up again faster or whatever works well with your preferred build.
Add me if you need a hand im free this evening.
I'm using an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 with default game settings.
I managed to beat the mission by using only pump action shotgun (strongest weapon in the game so far) and being lucky enough for bots to NOT stand in the middile of the arena getting downed on the first wave, instead following me and tanking hits while I kill mobs.
