Pathogen Expansion needed?
I got the base game in humble choice and a coupon for Pathogen Expansion, is it necessary?

Pathogen DLC is not required but i do highly recommend it.

You get 3 more missions (Base game is 12), expand on the pathogen infected aliens, bossfight with a queen, like 7~ new weapons, new attachment for every slot, new class abilities modifiers (most being meta defining), new card modifiers (endgame funtimes) and you'll get some bonus currency that will let you unlock stuff in the store faster so you can play with more guns sooner.

If you have fun with the base game its a no brainer.

Yes, absolutely

new maps, new enemies, new weapons, new story plot/context
totally worth it

If you buy Humble choice for April you will get a -40% coupon for this expansion in Humble store. You can find it on Humble choice page when you scroll down, section is called: "APRIL 2023 EXTRAS".

You dont need to use the humble coupon for dlc discount.
The price is already the same on most key shops all the time. Try the base game first.
