You can compensate some of it with a aoe heavy build and the "knockback when hit" perk on demo. Demo with knockdowns is necessary to deal with harder difficulties. I liked the old skill based gameplay where you could play any class and when you got good you could just MC Hammer around and then MVP emote.
World War Z started doing similar mechanics to instakill/fail you at certain points, which made the hardmode and getting past wave 25~ basically impossible. Guess there's too many "it's too easy" morons and the devs want to extend the grind to "create content". I gave up after doing the hardest difficulty tediously, perfect run, slow and steady, 2 hours later we all insta-wipe because a path starts and we didn't see which way the zombies were coming from, so since we sere standing on the path, insta die even though the zombies had not even reached us yet. That was a uninstall moment.
The result is that new players are screwed on some of the stuff because it's no longer possible.
Yay patches and "fixes"?
Also guns and mods got nerfed.
Seen this trend happen in a few games now. I just sigh.
Basically you need some friends to play with and work tactics out with them. If you que for randoms, then you're gona get randoms. Don't be toxic and just let people play what they want and have fun and don't try to play little dictator where your way is the only way or you'll screw over the team. You might learn something new. Do pay attention to pings and try to work with people the best you can of course, but overall having a "it's just a game and I'm here to have fun" is the best mentality to have. This game gets crazy above Intense and sometimes you just get hammered by bad spawns out of your control.
You can still avoid this with a little practice (ping/servers don't help), you can even "parry" as they hang in the air for about half a second you can bash them to stumble them.
Literally nothing got nerfed lmao.
Theres been basically no changes at all since october last year:
https://www.aliensfireteamelite.com/en/releasenotes/
In the year before that the only ones i can think of have been buffs, like almost all the heavy weapons were buffed in december 22, the pike got a buff at some point, a few rifles also got faster reloads.
There have been bug fixes - which again have almost universally been buffs as certain perks/attachment stats weren't being applied but now do.
Not to mention they buffed the hell out of the bots, they are better than a lot of players these days.
Demo is no where near "necessary", hes a great fodder killer and brings a lot of CC but that role can just as easily be filled with a tech.
If anything this is a prime example of all the buffs and additions. Demo was arguably one of the worst classes until the DLC came out because he had no team utility/uniq damage effect, his passive was super inconsistent, had no shotgun/shotgun pistol so his weapon damage was sub par, he had very little going for him other than being fun.
But they fixed half his perks, gave him precision rockets, we got more CDR/AoE options, buffed all the heavy weapons including reworking the smartguns aimbot making it far more consistent and now hes so strong you're calling him a necessity.
Not sure if you're talking about WWZ or AFE here. But in AFE's case not a single weapon or attachment ever got tweaked with the intention of making it weaker.
