pls give me Rain's gun in the next Aliens Fireteam Elite patch!
No news on the socials since 2023's new CEO.
The only news I could find on this project is that they are working with Toadman Interactive under EG7 (Enad Global 7)/Daybreak for "Cold Iron’s exciting new multiplayer action shooter based on a major global IP license." There has been no info released afaik for what "New Game" is or what licence it is.
https://www.enadglobal7.com/press-releases/daybreak-to-publish-an-exciting-new-multiplayer-action-shooter-from-cold-iron-studios/
Fun fact from above release: Cold Iron was formerly part of Daybreak studios, but was not acquired when EG7 bought them, becoming their own studio and going on to produce AFE.
Edit:
Digging through EH7's financial statements for the last year they state they have invested USD~$17M "EG7 has made a total investment of SEK 173.8 million in Cold Iron LLC’s new game" of which USD~$1M was co-development costs from Toadman Interactive.
"Cold Iron - The development is proceeding according to plan and budget, and the game is planned for release mid-2025. " so yeah, they're working on something. They're just not talking about what it is.
To my mind, it's not an Aliens franchise. From a marketing perspective they would get a multiplier effect by offering a release package timed for the Romulus movie release for maximum hype with whatever they have to go with, even if it's just concept art or a teaser. Much like 2K/Borderlands tried - the hype can be negative or positive depending on the association. In this case I think it would be strongly positive.
That they did not, on top of good box office success and fan favour, implies strongly to me the two are not connected.
