For example you could get 40 waves of rewards multiplied by a card like hidden knowledge to max level a class.
Sure, if you really need to conserve a card I suppose, but especially if you haven't gotten all 28 attachments from the horde mode it seems to encourage you to do 10 and outs rather than continue (no reason you shouldn't get an attachment reward every 10 waves since 10-20 is harder).
1) You want to. Beyond me why you would, though. Play a harder difficulty if you can do 20, 30, 40, 50, etc, waves. It's a lot more fun.
2) If you're playing Hardcore mode(also beyond me why you would, as it's basically easy mode despite the permadeath, and it's irritating to find anyone to play with, and has major issues with it) multiple waves count for higher difficulties for unlocks. (This is not the case in the normal game.)
