Game lags whenever I fire my weapon.

So my buddy and I were wanting to start playing this game again but I'm running into a pretty big problem. The game lags super bad whenever I fire either of my weapons. I have turned settings down, turned settings off, and even had NVIDIA optimize the game for me and nothing seems to fix it. Any help would be much appreciated if anyone has any idea as to why this is happening.

In my experience, Geforce never helped optimize for high and low settings. Made things worse. May want to restore graphic settings to default. And like you mentioned above. Start off with all in game graphic settings to low or off.

Have you tried updating your graphics card?

Full Screen :
Full screen may work better then windowed. Or Vice Versa.

Direct X :
Have you tried playing with these settings. You have to restart game after you change it.

My graphics card is fully up to date and I've tried other forms of screen type. I haven't tried setting everything to potato mode yet though so I can try that when I'm done installing AVP 2010... gotta get my Aliens fix somehow.

So it seems to be working all of a sudden. Don't know what it was but it's working... for now.

That's good. I did a search with your specific issue and others had the same issue. Said changing the window setting fixed their problem. With many others confirming it.

It was jealous you were installing AVP.
