Gift of Fire: Boarding Multiplayer issue

Anyone else having the issue of when trying to load into Gift of Fire: Boarding with a full group of friends it always kicked one or both of the non host players? This is happening 100% of the time when trying to load this map and has completely stopped progression for me and my fam. two of us are LAN and one online, the connection issue is between the two PC's on the same network.
While i'm on the topic, this happens sometimes on other maps as well but not at the 100% rate of this mission. and it really REALLY sucks to lose your challenge cards over such a painfully overlooked issue :/

game doesnt support LAN. it is online multiplayer and your trying to force LAN.

I'm not trying to force anything :/ I'm just stating the situation we were all in. LAN means Local Area Network. aka we are in the same building. I don't know how the multiplayer works in this game so I put that info in just in case it's relevant.

you can be on a local area network with no broadband connection. the game requires broadband connection for its multiplayer.

also is everyone connecting through wired connection?

it can also be software compatibility issue.

all using windows 10, the coaxial network in our household doesn't allow for us to be on wired with all PCs. one is wired, the other is on IPV6 2.4g wireless near the modem, the modem is resting in the open away from speakers, and other electronic devices.
Just a friendly heads up.
I worked networking and internet tech support for a major telecom company in my area so I do know my way around basic troubleshooting and network setups ;)

i dont think this game has a connection time out feature. since you cannot rejoin once the mission starts, that's it for anyone who gets disconnected. wireless is the likely culprit since it is unstable.

does everyone have crossplay enabled? it could help if you dont.

we did. the troubling thing is that we were playing mostly stable through the whole game up to this particular mission.
tho update, we just got it working a short while ago, we kept at it and took turns trying as the host, eventually it worked. but so many attempts in a row for one mission. just seems particularly odd

we have not experienced that troulbe again in the following maps. Tho I appreciate your willingness to help :)
