unitl intense it works kinda out, on extreme and insane the bots are just not helpful. too low of firepower but what is much worse, they constantly step in front of you. not that smart with friendly fire enabled.
on another thought... 2/3 of human players also run constantly in front of you.. so maybe a training for what you have to suffer in matches with other players
It's an online co-op game by its very nature, any development resources diverted to AI would have been to the detriment of the rest of the game.

- Follow Commands Of Pinged Human Player (Gives Other Humans Command Of Bot)
Then I'd be even happier with offline play. I'm currently on insane and, yes, it's possible solo but very tedious and annoying. When on multiplayer insane and one human player leaves, leaving us with a bot in their place, the bot ends up dying because it's always in the way of fire in tight corridors. Also die in the process of trying to rescue the downed bot.
