No offence, but i remember when peoples at some other game - including me - mantioned that an OPTIONAL 3rd person perspective would be good, FPS fan's virtually killed them all... And now asking for FPP in a TPS game?
You know what? I hope dev's make optional FPP for you guys, but you have to learn to respect those, who are not into FPP.
I agree Vulcan.
The enclosed environments is a very good point. Third person kinda guarantees there won't be any single file corridors and low ceilings, cause nowhere for camera to go.
Otherwise, it depends on what the tone of the game they are going for is. If I remember, Alien Isolation was originally third person, until someone hacked in first as a test, and the tension of the game shot up dramatically because of it, which fit for a horror survival game. If they are going for a more relaxed arcadey game, third person would be appropriate.
