this has been the norm in literally any game involving classes and roles take wow for example or overwatch
when you queue for tank or healer you'll get near instant queue times but when you queue as a damage dealer you end up with 30 min queue times why?
because believe it or not almost everyone wants to play the thing that hurts rather the one that takes the hurt or heals the hurt
everyone wants to deal damage essentially everyone
no amount of nerfing will fix that really human nature i suppose
but then again personally i think you care too much about the numbers at the end screen "player killed X xenos" i just say who the hell cares i won the mission and i had a blast with my friends
Thank you very much my dude, i wouldn't have worded it like that but it helped big time finding the right input to google the next game i could rip. Thanks a lot.
1 med kit per player per big fight, to be exact.
I like Gunner because of the damage output. I see more Demolishers and Tech's to be exact compared to other classes. I haven't made up my mind yet on which one to stick with.
Second - Demolisher is most certainly not OP - they're good for dealing with hordes of small stuff (which is their job if you ask me), but the smartgun tends to lack the power to deal with specials quickly.
Third, Gunner and Tech have every bit as much firepower as Demolisher, its just focused differently. My buddy plays Gunner and post mission results saw us trading off who did the most damage, sometimes it was me as the Demo, sometimes it was him as the Gunner - there was no clear winner.
The basic Class roles seem to be more-or-less as follows:
Gunner - Special Slayer/Tight Spot Buffer
Demolisher - Mook Obliterator/Tight Spot Crowd Control (besides killing the entire crowd, I mean)
Technician - Crowd Control Par Excellence/Debuffer
Doc - "Jeezis friggin' Xmas stop taking all the medkits they're the only way I can refill this bloody healing+buffing podium GOD please stopstopstopgoddammit you DID IT AGAIN I'm TRYING TO HELP YOU TO HELP ME TO HELP US ALL AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH"/"Hey now you can move 15% faster and dodgeroll a bit more often. Isn't that nice?"
Recon - Team Buffs/Enemy Debuffs/Special Killing (I guess? I can't use the long-range guns in this game very well to be honest - which is admittedly a "me problem")
EDIT: on the plus side, the Doc can equip that Handgun Riot-Gun, which absolutely annihilates things in close quarters. On the minus side, so can the Technician (though their other slot is a CQW so it might not be such a good idea if you want to deal with things at range).
Umm, I disagree, I've been playing the medic and I don't have any issues with playing her at all. The weapon buff I can do in a critical moment is next to none. along with the heal station.
