I tried the beta for Back 4 Blood and the game just doesn't live up to the hype or the solid game that L4D is. It's really a step backwards in terms of a coop style zombie game.

That being said, I haven't played Aliens Fireteam yet but I've watched tons of videos watching people play the early release and I have to say that what I'm seeing is impressive looking. I'm sure there will be flaws (there are always flaws in the initial release of a game) but it looks to me like the core game mechanics are solid, unlike what I experienced in Back 4 Blood.

This, aliens fireteam elite definitely! Played back 4 blood and honestly you're not missing out on anything, but in the end only you can decide and the choice is up to you.

Well tried the beta of B4B, didnt liked it one bit, versus player is part of the problem, L4D offer an campaign versus ( so you can do pvp while playing the campaign of the game) while B4B its a separate mode in a small arena. Not gonna speak about the card system, some love it and some don't. Weapons upgrading bring something new if you like but for me L4D series is a better product then B4B for now.

In pricing structure and content Aliens definitely has an advantage. A purchase of the base game gets you access to all the new campaigns and major updates which will help to keep players coming back. Compare that to Back 4 Blood, where you have to buy the $100 version of the game just to get access to anything after launch, and they still expect you to spend money on cosmetic microtransactions.

Aliens has the edge in progression as well as It offers classes to level up, custom characters and modifiable weapons. In Back 4 Blood the only persistent progression you have are the cards, which really don't affect the game that much from what I played of the beta.

Fireteam has something new to offer with the theme, versus Back 4 Blood which is trying to cash in on the nostalgia of Left 4 Dead. I'm expecting Back 4 Blood to have a strong initial launch, followed by a steep drop in players as they learn it really doesn't have much to offer.

B4B is a poor ♥♥♥♥, which is worse than L4D 1. This game we didn't try yet so no one can tell is it better or not.

Probably this. B4B beta was absolutely boring and what I've seen from this so far hasn't convinced me either. Looks really bland so far.

I have played B4B beta and saw a lot of content from Alien Firestorm... first of all if you don't have friends to play it with, those games will most likely collect "dust" on your steam shelf. They were meant to be played in CO OP. The A.I companions are simply bad. It could change with a few patches but even then they won't replace actual humans.

Secondly the games are pretty linear. Same maps, same monsters, same places for "Fighting the hordes / bosses" with a little bit of RNG thanks to "mutators" and A.I director.

I personally don't think those games will blow up ( I might be wrong on B4Blood because if community starts making mods and servers then maybe it can have longer life than Aliens Fireteam ).

Remnant from the Ashes which isn't the same game as Aliens Fireteam had me hooked up from the start. The progression, exploration fun gameplay and replay value was just something I haven't found in most Third Person Shooters. Aliens Fireteam pretty much has only atmosphere and progression going for it. Shooting feels very similar to other games in this genre and without friends it will grow stale pretty quick. Time will tell. I will drop a review after finishing it tho... so do check it out.

B4B has matchmaking.

Does Alien Fireteam Elite not have public matchmaking??

I'd say it's a matter of taste, I am personally hyped for Aliens Fireteam Elite that I have it preordered on Steam & PS5! I haven't had interest in zombie games for a long time now but I am a huge sucker for anything in the Aliens universe, especially since I've been waiting for EXACTLY this type of game since the Alien vs Predator days..

When Alien vs Predator dropped back in 1999 my buddies and I would make custom survival servers and run around co-op fraggin bugs for countless hours. Back then there was no purpose other than the pure fun of bug hunting, it was simple times. The AvP games that followed we continued doing the same, followed by co-op Colonial Marines which was a let down but still fun as a fan.

Now fast forward to 2021 and here we have Cold Iron Studiio dropping an Aliens game to the exact taste of what my buddies and I enjoyed back in the day. I am not a critical person, having fun is all that matters to me when it comes to video games. So my expectations are a fun Aliens universe shoot em up co-op experience with friends, and that's it. Anything else is just a cherry top! I absolutely can't wait to jump into at midnight on the 24th, I already rearranged my work schedule...so long as this damn hurricane now downgraded to tropical storm in NY doesn't mess up everything up but so far this morning has been fine!
