Note I said invest, not play the game on same char.
Though I hope it´s clear Bossing depends a lot on Runes & Gear & Playstyle & Level, meaning 2 players can experience very different results despite similar builds.
Summoners were always weaker Casters, essentially hampered by game mechanics
Well you have a ww build in your guide although toxic flame it seems. Is that what you'd recommend? I was running a chaos level spire earlier today and there was a ww guy just tearing it up. His circle was red in colour?
The real problem is that a Casher can play very differently from F2P. As F2P you need to accumulate resources first and ideally build your power via twinks.
A Casher can go Shortcut route and just ignore some severe obstacles like GOLD. Well, Gold is somewhat OK if you have finished Story and reached Maps (incl. some heavy farming), but for new players it´s crucial to have a build that is not too expensive or eats up mats.
Regarding WW-builds.. at some point the STARTER is not as important as the CHAIN.
That´s why WW can do well, almost like a Mage-build
Personally I think WW is the strongest Melee by a mile, but the playstyle is.. let´s say you have to like Press-Button-Spinning
If you want a very versatile base WhirlWind is one of the keystones. The only downside is that you need to improve CHANNELING + some extra DEF layers, while a 100% Glascannon DPS can ignore this.
That´s also why I only suggest WW as Party-Support (yes, it´s one of the best TANK builds and #1 Aura build). With the right teammates your Party can really flip the switch and reach content which is impossible solo unless you´re a Whale..
That said, the kind of WW I´m talking about is nowhere cheap - meaning a Casher´s WW will superceed F2P easily. But even the F2P version is strong
Regarding Toxic Flame.. it works well for Story and early Maps, BUT.. (a big But) you fall behind if you stick to it forever. TF scales early, for Endgame you need something that scales LATE. You have several options and it depends a lot, if you´re Ranged (Archer or Mage) or MidRange/Melee (Dagger or WW).
In that context I should add: some builds are better with CRIT, while a few of the best builds ignore it. Both ways are viable. Just pick something you can enjoy
After all, the most important choice in Undecember is your 2-3 base skills.
You probably already have 2 characters that will work well with WW.
It's simple to convert and you won't lose much.
'Hunter' in the VIII zodiac has an ability called "Time of the Hunt" - It costs 5 points to get there.
That is really all you need to respec into.
Then you just need a lvl 1 WW with at least 2 sockets, preferably 4+ sockets. Normal quality is fine. You want attack speed link, and any links that improve survivability.
Weapon-wise I suggest dual-wielding Sceptres - Attack speed directly affects cast speed for your spell.
I think that's all it takes. From there on it's the usual gear min-maxing.

i didn't find this build anywhere i just kind of developed it on my own through trial and error and it's now my main as it's just so much more rewarding to make your own character. instead of planning on a certain build i'd recommend making a character and let it evolve
