Undecember

Undecember

74,7% armor, 60% fire resist, 2273 hp, 21,3% block. I should not be one shot for Archbishop Magis.
60% plus elemental resist potion, that is. I even grinded the whole night to be on his level (55). And he is still wiping the floor with me. This is just so stupid. Those aren't even mechanics. Just stupidly overpowered fire attacks. And what little life the direct damage doesn't take, the fires will eat away. There are no windows to land some blows. All I do is run away from his attacks, drinking potions on cool down because 1 firy pixel touched me.

How can it be a business strategy to drive away your customers by denying them to even finish the game on damn "normal" difficulty????

yeah just seemed the dot ticked alot faster with a character with hardly any resists compared to one with max res

maybe it just has some amount of piercing? its not like this game has reliable tooltips

I'm not sure all of his attacks proc equal burn dots.

I'm not telling thar you don't need fire resist, because hits also hit with fire. But raising fire resist didn't help me much because of dots. I had to craft better hp potions, changed zodiac for potion efficiency. Movement speed also helped.

I beat dat boss with zero investment into fire resist. I just allowed my minions do the dirty work.

you can have 100% fire res but burning ignores fire res completely, try and get fire damage reduction and use the 60 second HP pot as well as the 10 second one, PS F this boss and every boss after it

I almost quit and uninstalled the game because of this Magis boss. But what the heck,I'll buy some res scroll.Problem solved.

Also armor is obviously not going to help, you should get barrier gear instead. Armor is a wasted stat for this fight.

the boss is manageable without using a single res if your around the same level and do enough dmg did it without dying on my toxic flame and once on my fireball character since dots allow you to move more freely rather than keep casting in place for a bit

The only attack you need to really look out for is the split firedot ball and save roll/tele till the 3rd pull ins done then get out quick

You need capped fire res and IIRC and be a ranged char if you want to have better survival chances. Melee chars will have way more trouble killing most bosses and mini bosses in this game.

Ps. And I mean Physical based melee chars. You can build Poison Fang and KEKW at bosses lol.

can confirm, playing melee physical and beating every boss was stupidly more difficult than range, but it is doable with a tank build. fire dot ignores fire res, just pay attention to this bosses attack patterns and try to avoid when you can the best you can, I also recommend using 2 movement skills instead of 1 for additional mobility in fights, there will be more one-shotty bosses coming up too, that you'll face the same issues in no matter if you're capped at 75% res, since they do attacks that don't take them into account.

Uh, what? You can't use 2 movement skills. They share a cooldown.

I had no deaths until Act 6. I have 2 characters that I have been running. One is a Glass cannon mage, other is a Phys Melee Tank.

Both have capped Res. Mage had 1k Hp and 500 Barrier. Tank had I think. 1600 hp.
neither one 1 shots trash mobs.

That one sword dude in Act 4 (the Baptised one with the lightning sword). Did 1600 damage through my Armor and phys resist on the tank and 1 shot him. Got hit with a thunderbolt on the mage and got 1 shot with 1700 lightning damage.

So I've just been at a quandary about it. If going full damage still can't 1 shot trash mobs but going tankier still gets 1 shot, it really doesn't matter what your build choices are it seems. Or you have to sit there rolling gear to get max HP, +%Armor/Barrier/dodge, -% damage taken and max resists.

Then it only gets worse in Act 6. Strangely enough I haven't been having as much trouble there until the bosses. Most aren't too bad, other than the hit indicators being wonky (but that has been an issue for the majority of bosses).

I just don't really know what the plan is for everything beyond Act 6 for most people. Just die 100 times to get to end game? Seems to be the case for most people according to the boards.

All in all I feel like strangely its not even every attack a boss has thats trouble. Its just certain attacks feel overtuned. Speaking about that sword boss again, normal attacks barely touched my Melee dude, same with the lightning on the ground he shoots out. But his lunging attack 1 shot. So I really have no idea.

♥♥♥♥ you and ♥♥♥♥ ALL of you who act like you don't need physical damage resist on this guy.

I got far enough in his phase to see he has a one-shot physical damage mechanic that is basically impossible to avoid but you can survive it with enough armor.

Yeah, so I'm wrong you don't need armor but I hadn't beat the guy yet. Most of you have, so ♥♥♥♥ you all for not saying anything.
