This game is COMPLETELY NOT realistic, mostly because of the AI bots abilities
I played war game lobby alone just to test out the bots. I like to do that after patches just to see how the bots react and behave to different situations.
I loaded up the "Apartments" mission and quickly sprinted to get to the building. Only encountered two bad guys and I put them down quickly. After reaching the apartment building the whistles started blowing so I rushed to the very top where the wounded team was located.
I watched as the AI Bots threw several of the improvised nades FROM THE GROUND outside the 4-STORY Apartment building all the way to the top of the building. There were MANY bots on the ground outside the building and most all of them were firing there rifles into the walls where I was standing and they followed me as I moved around the top of the building. Even the sniper was trying to hit me through solid walls. The bots tracked my every movement from the ground and concentrated their fire on any place I moved to on the roof area.
There's NO WAY they could SEE me from the ground, but they tracked me beautifully. It was a great demonstration of "interlocking fields of fire" and "suppressive fire" even though they had to REAL chance of hitting me. Some lucky shots hit, and I slowly began to build of damage from the nades and the all the bullets firing until eventually the bots wore me down and ended the mission for me. HURRAH for the AI BOTS!!!!! HURRAH!!! It was actually very comical as I continued to displace and avoid their fire to see how well they could continue to track and suppress me all while flooding my area with nades FROM THE GROUND to the top of a 4-story building. Also there were not far away from the building at all.
They were so close to the building that I could not return fire because any time I tried to aim down the rifle would touch something and go to "port arms" and NOT FIRE. WTH IS THAT ABOUT by the way??

THE ONE THING THAT RUINS THIS GAME (for me) IS THE SUPER HUMAN ABILITIES OF THE BOTS!!! That one thing alone KILLS this game. I've logged hundreds of hours trying to give this game a chance, but if the AI Bots can't do a better job of "EMULATING" human beings and our human limitations, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to uninstall and move on to something else to spend my time with. I realize no ones gives a damn, and the comments will be flooded with "bye" or "f(#K-off", or "no one cares", but that's the observation that I've just made.

As far as i've seen the devs are aware of unusual bot behaviour since the last two patches, a few people have been reporting back strange activity with them so they do know about it.

Chances are, this one will be hotfixed quite soon if I had to take a guess. Even if they reverted behaviour back to how it was two patches ago.

To disclaim, I'm not very tech savvy by today's standards. You mentioned that you loaded the "apartment" simulation? Are we able to pick and choose what scenarios we play? I always thought it was random? To specify, I only play solo, don't know if that makes a difference? Cheers!

Yeah I have noticed the mortar, sniper and RPG tracking is kind of insane right now. The update really messed with the AI behaviour in a bad way. Got to second this minus the attitude. I find it difficult to believe these complaints come from 'hundreds' of hours of experience seeing as how they are all relatively recent problems.

Wargames Missions then go to Wargame Options. You can select some preferences.

Click Wargames the next time you launch the game and not Fireteam and you'll have a lot more options to choose from :)

Yeah, what the guys above have said. You can use it to play as sort of a single player, but don't expect any mercy. lol. I use it as a way to determining Bot behavior.

Just played another round of War games lobby with a couple friends. We had a bot cornered and surrounded on 3 sides on the Amusement park mission. He was surrounded on 3 sides as we were suppressing and moving in closer. Even after being hit 3 times he fired 3 shots and killed of all as fast as any aim-bot I've ever seen. We were practicing moving and suppression on the last remaining Bot and he owned use. After a VERY BIG laugh we called BS. It's just simply not possible for that to happen especially while the Bot is suppressed. And yes I know the bots don't suffer through suppression like players do. It's just another example of how terribly bad the Bots are coded. There's just to much God mode in these bots. Also while playing the Phase Line Henry mission, 2 bot VBIEDs survived direct hits from the M203 and redirected back toward the AAV's and destroyed them. Go figure, but I've almost had my fill of this nonsense. :)

I understand what u mean and it can be frustrating, but its still a videogame. Do you want to be dehydrated with a headache and tired, and have MRE's to eat while you play too? Coding enemy AI isnt easy. Even AAA games like ARMA3 struggle to make realistic AI. Game is still fun

NO SH1T!!! REALLY??? I had no idea it was a "VIDEO GAME"!
Is this supposed to be some sort of "intelligent" comment on a post? Because it really isn't. I've BEEN all of those things even while being injured and hungry. Coding AI bots is easy when compared.
I just want the AI BOTS to have normal human abilities AND limitations. No more, no less, but just the same. I don't want to play a "GAME" where the AI bots make it seem as though you're playing against of group of aim-bot and wall-hack users. Since it is a "GAME" there should be some sense of "fair-play".

How did you concluded it ?
I haven't noticed one single word from devs. of that intention ?

Based on their reply (lack of reply) so far - we can only dream both the hotfix or easier (playable) AI behaviour in Settings options.

One can also exaggerate, The AI has a lot of potential and is really challenging, i like the suppressive fire

Guess the "just" is the problem. Coding AI isn't smth you just do. You have to test it thoroughly (if you don't have the money for machinelearning etc.), because it has to work with your maps, player perception, gameloop, storytelling etc.
In 6 days, it's even worse, because the environment changes. No simple cheating possible.

Where I totally agree with you is the goal. I'd like to see such an AI, too.
But I doubt it's simple and easily done. It will take time, ressources and patience.
As long as devs are dedicated to reach that goal, I'm happy to wait - look at all the other utterly disappointing tactical shooters with AI ... fast development will never bring anybody close to that goal.

I'm catching up from the weekend.

I'll pass this entire thread to our team so we can take a look and hopefully reproduce the AI behavior. As Stuermer mentioned, AI is anything but simple. There may be a few bugs here for us to address.

One of the players from Discord was having issues, they took some videos and passed them along to the team..

Amper has replied now so, you are aware that he is aware that we are aware of a problem.

For heaven's sake, please address both problems:
- "Whistle" wave rush of insurgents crowd
- "Banzai" RPG onslaught

( ...or at least introduce an option in Settings for a non-superman players )

Thanks to your dev. team, in a good hope...
