Rooftop Sniping mission
Have a mission where your snipping from a rooftop. Have 2 snipers sniping and 2 rifleman covering the stairs or assisting sniping with acogs. Have it start with a kill of an enemy target followed by waves approaching and exfil after to a vehicle while fighting your way out

They won’t even add prone. Don’t expect to ever get proper rooftop engagements.

From what iv seen in iraq war videos they usually just mount on the rooftop. Its those rooftops that offer cover from about shoulders down.

God no. There were many times I laid face down on Iraqi rooftops because 7.62x54 being fired from a PKM was zipping right thru the crap masonry work and skipping all over the rooftop.

On top of that, proper “sniping” if on exposed rooftops we would bust out small ballistic and optical loopholes to shoot/observe thru while prone and back away from the parapet walls. It’s more desirable to shoot from a lower floor from concealment within a room and avoid rooftops all together.

“Mounting” on parapet walls is about the least desired gunfighting because you are ultimately silhouetting your position.

The overall point I’m making about the lack of prone is the parroting that they didn’t often use prone when in cqb is silly and completely out of context. Umm ya we didn’t typically lay down in hallways or on the couch when clearing structures but the other 99% of movement that occurs outside it’s highly valuable and needed for basic survival.

Its dumb gameplay mechanics like that without proper context and just aren’t logical or reasonable that will continue to hold this project back.

I do agree with you that prone should be a thing.

But a rooftop mission would be dope, I always see videos of marines engaging from the rooftop and taking fire and shooting back.

Overall though prone would be the best not sure why games same with ready or not dont have that. Cost I assume or coding?

I had one mission where most of the rooftops connected which could have changed the whole way to approach clearing the buildings, but staying up there is a death wish.

rooftop engagements would be a great addition but that requires prone. and probably getting the AI right. right now it's like you have to lead them up to the roof before you cross over to another one because if you run ahead they might take a downstairs route and run into trouble
