If 3 people can do that with (around) 10 hours of game time for each of us, in a game designed to be played (in the current mode) with 4 players, the difficulty isn't too hard.
With that being said, we're aware there is a lack of difficulty balancing for solo players right now, and we're hoping to improve this with the introduction of friendly AI teammates later this quarter.
Night time ops help with how much you're actually being seen while moving around alleyways and such. Brightness being turned all the way up can help a lot too for some people, look for silhouettes, don't need to see what kind of shoes they got on if you know all your friendlies are behind you.
Having a background in milsim/realism FPS games helps with knowing how to tackle missions in this game a lot. I completed the apartment mission on fubar and hard with just one friend of mine. It took a couple tries, but it being night time made it so we weren't shot at while approaching buildings as much; basically a lot safer than daytime. If my friend and I were not coordinated and working together really well, we definitely would have not beaten it. However, it was surprising how easy it was when we were doing it.
Lastly, don't rush into rooms unless you know the doorway is not being currently shot at. If it is, just watch the impacts or tracers and get an idea where they are shooting from inside (right corner, left corner, center of the room, etc). AI are programmed to simulate some real-world tactics, if the insurgents hear you stomping towards their door or yelling outside, they'll likely start suppressing the doorway in anticipation. If you got time, then take it and see what you can from outside the room through the doorway. 'Slice the pie' and shoot.
I understand this is not single player ATM. Which is usually the games I play anymore.
I would love to get back into multiplayer and this game made me consider it.
I have been playing with others. Random matching but everybody always dies fast (including myself). Even when I do get some ground it inevitably fails because everyone else has died.
I seem to get nowhere. Frustrating.
I will keep trying. But may just end up waiting for it to mature for a while.
Would look forward to a good single player game too for sure.
I just feel I am in a map with mostly camping snipers. Go figure. I guess that is what Fallujah was.
But this is entertainment. Not a documentary.
Maybe add a few farts here and there to give us a few more slight heads up cues on the bad guys.
Not hand holding or anything like that.
It just seems like you are doing what you should be doing and then, out of nowhere- you just dead.
Every time.
From seemingly nowhere.
I understand that is the way it was. But this is entertainment not a documentary.
Either way I will keep an eye on its progression because I like the direction.
I think there is room for both.
Why not have a realism mode for people that want the challenge and an action mode for people that want to play solo or want a bit more of a forgiving experience.
It's a game after all.
The more accessible they make it even with an option, the more it will sell.
Complaining about the difficulty in a game that is supposed to be difficult is some of the craziest sh*t i've read in a while.
Don't play a game that's aimed to be realistic and difficult if you don't want that kind of experience instead of trying to change the game to tailor your expectations.
We appreciate all forms on feedback on what's available in Early Access so far, as it helps inform future releases. Thanks for all the comments on this, everyone.
imagine playing with 3 other real people and 3 of them goes down then all of a sudden its 1 vs the ai that knows where you are before you do and you have to try and revive your team mates.
its ok to keep the difficulty but other things need to be changed.
