But yes. All weapons are exactly as they would be in 2004 and used properly.
Endy that's not a crosshair, there are no crosshairs in this game, It changes from either 1 to 3 dots depending on what fire mode you set the weapon, single or burst fire. Also shooting from the hip is not centre screen like in most games it's much lower.
Are you talking about screenshot number 4 on the store page? In that case, they're simply looking over the acog for close-range shooting. You're not really using the front sight in that case; it's not meant for precision shooting or "regular" aiming, it's just to spray at close-range in kind of a hurry since the optics provide too much magnification to see your target that close. You just happen to be able to see the front sight when doing so since the person in the screenshot is aiming at an upward angle.
That being said, it's not effective if your target isn't within a building's length away from you IRL. I suspect the devs made a playability compromise here to make it more accurate over longer ranges, as point shooting is more complex than shown in-game. The front post acts as a "crosshair" players can use.
Devs have noted feedback on this and I hope they adjust it so we actually have to use the sights at longer ranges, but in the meantime you can freely swap between the two aiming modes so if you want you can just use the point shooting indoors and swap to sights outdoors to get that extra realism.
Overall, the experience and atmosphere is like no other game on the market, so if you have a group of friends playing pick it up. If not, wait 6 months and pick it up once AI teammates are added.
