If Early Access wasn't used as an escape route "Interstellar Marines" I'd agree with you 100%. Not saying this game or devs are like the mentioned above, but I'm just pointing out the things you listed are far from guaranteed.
"Early access, also known as alpha access, alpha founding, paid alpha, or game preview, is a funding model in the video game industry by which consumers can purchase and play a game in the various pre-release development cycles, such as pre-alpha, alpha, and/or beta, while the developer is able to use those funds to continue further development on the game."
From the store page:
What the developers have to say:
Why Early Access?
“We're making Six Days available now in the hope of attracting an enthusiastic community of players who are interested in a real-world tactical shooter and can help us shape Six Days for years to come.
Six Days offers a robust and realistic cooperative experience right now, with four missions that can be played by 1-4 human players and are set in urban maps that are generated procedurally each time the game is played.
Next, we plan to add AI teammates, more co-op missions, special operator missions, more nationalities, and a single-player campaign.”
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“We expect Six Days will be in Early Access a little more than 12 months. Please see our roadmap, which describes additional content we plan to release during Early Access.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“The full version will offer a complete single-player story campaign that recreates true stories of Americans and Iraqis during the battle, as well as a robust special operator mode, more player roles, more co-op missions, and AI teammates. We plan to introduce many of these components one-by-one throughout Early Access.”
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“The game currently offers four cooperative missions that can be played by 1-4 human players against sophisticated AI. These missions take place on battlefields that are generated procedurally. All the features listed in the "About This" section on this page have been implemented.
Although you can play the game solo right now, playing by yourself is very challenging and realistic. The game does not currently offer AI teammates to help you, although these will be added in the future.
Please see our roadmap for more details about additional content and features we plan to release in the future.”
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“We plan to increase the price of the game during Early Access after we add more content.”
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
“We encourage players to send us ideas through the "Submit Feedback" option in the game, the forums on our Six Days website, the forums here on Steam, and through our Discord server.
One reason we've entered Early Access is so our Community can help us build a great foundation for what we hope will be a very long-lasting real-world tactical shooter franchise.”
TLDR: Early Access is essentially Alpha testing of the game, early Beta Testing at best.
