Curious to hear everyone's thoughts on OP's suggestion. Thanks for submitting this.
Also yeah the underhand throw was done with the left click though. Idk if I need to change keybindings but left click should be overhand
A way to implement nade cooking would be to first select type of throw with either left/right button, and then hold both mouse buttons to cook.
for example I want to cook an underhand grenade :
1. Press and hold right mouse button. I'm now winding up for an underhand roll.
2. While leaving the right mouse button pressed : press and hold the left mouse button. You are now holding both mouse buttons. You can hear the spoon falling to the floor indicating you're cooking it. Your character could also yell "COOKING FRAG" or something along those lines.
3. Release both buttons to roll the grenade.
^^ Swap right and left above for overhand throw.
Thats what I mean though I threw 2 grenades where I left click and it was under hand. I didnt have an issue day 1 but did yesterday
For my keybindings G is grenade. Maybe in order to cook you press G again. If you dont double click have it be default where you hold grenade but dosnt cook. Only issue would be if you accidently double click, or if you key bind to cook use mouse 3-4 if you got side buttons
Yes, G is to quick select currently selected grenade type.
That means
- If you press 3 you will select frags, press 1 back to gun, press G back to frag.
- If you press 4 you will select smokes, press 1 back to gun, press G back to smokes.
Whether you selected your grenade using numbers or G key, you can throw it using the mouse.
I'm not sure about double click combinations to cook them. This seems more error prone than holding down both buttons but that might be just me.
In any case I don't think in real life grenade cooking is a common practice because fuse time can be unreliable but it's a nice to have in a game.
Cooking the nades for me at least was taught at SOI/MCT so that the Enemy couldn't pick the grenade up and throw it back at you, so yes Cooking should be implemented
