"the higher your rank, the harder the enemies. if youre the team leader anyways ?"
and this info confirm ?
What rank?
I've never seen any ranking or XP count, only the two pages of AAR after a successful mission.
Is it because I only play solo, or what am I missing?
I guess its not for you. Game is not aiming to please GenZ ;)
That or, as a corporal, my xp bar barely fills up as fast compared to a private.
I've only played solo so far (with 4 completed missions), and I'm up about a quarter at 'Private First Class'.
Well, they sure will reset any progression in the game. Early access is just a paid beta, and almost every game I know has reset everything in the release, but normally people receive an exclusive achievement, they probably will do the same.
About the ranks, I think Second Lt. will be the maximum rank as they try to be more realistic, telling what happened in the invasion of Iraq. To be honest, no Colonel or General has taken their foots in Iraqi land with a gun in their hands, the Marines that fought in Fallujah were most Privates and Sergeants. High ranks of military are command and administrative personal, not the front line soldiers.
Also answering the main question, XP is earned only if you survive in the end of a completed mission (a successful completed mission), things you do in the mission will increase or decrease the amount of XP earned (secondary missions, weapon caches, etc increase and friendly fire decreases). To reach the Second Lt. rank it is necessary something about 160 - 165 missions.
