i can hear myself talking in game.
no sure whats causing this but i thought it was sound leak but i asked my friend to mute his mic i spoke and i could faintly hear myself talking back. its so annoying is anyone else having this problem

Did you try turning down your game voice volume in the volume settings? Had some of that in our group as well.

well theres no point because i asked my friend to mute his mic so theres no way for my voice to playback through his microphone. so its clearly the game doing something

it doesnt make any sense. it wouldnt make any difference how loud i have my mic set because when my friends mic is muted theres no way for the sound to play back through from also it would have direction if he's to my left i would only hear myself from my left, but im not im hearing it as if someones spectatings me like its all directions. but nobody is actually spectating since its only 2 of us. literally making it so i cant us comms in game because im stumbling over my owns words being broadcast back to me with a quarter second delay. this wasnt happening the first couple days.

its a bug, sometimes i hear my voice through my teamates, restart the match, and then its gone. something in the audio of the game itself is like re-sending the audio back out other peoples faces lol

Happens to me too only in the lobby. Once the match starts it doesn’t happen.

yeah but that issue sounds like sound leak meaning people who have either open back headphones or theyre games are so loud audio comes out the headphones and back through their own mics into the game. aka the characters faces. this isn't that since i asked him to mute his mic so i could test to see if it was sound leak.

i also did another test. characters mouths move when players speak in this game. i test this while he was AFK said a few words and watched to see if his lips moved and they didnt.

My mic is always on regardless of how many times I try to turn on push to talk. I figured it was actually an intended feature and that the push-to-talk button was for when there was too much distance between players to actually hear them from earshot

its open mic on purpose by designe, the push to talk it actually for the radio just a poor choice of words in the keybindings menu. but the situation im on about is being able to hear my own voice repeated back to me when my friends mic is muted and its not coming from the direction of my friend either meaning this game is just repeating my microphone audio back to me slightly quieter. making it so i cant string together a sentence without fumbling over my own voice.

Yes the same here, guys I was playing with said I should buy these. https://row.hyperx.com/products/hyperx-cloud-alpha-s?variant=40910061109453 as they have them and said no echo or here yourself talking, a little pricey but you would have a great headset for years to come.

So I only hear myself when im in a building and that could just be your echo off the walls

once again this isnt a sound leak issue, im not about to tell my friend to buy a new headset. i confirmed this is a bug the moment i asked my friend to mute his mic. lets say my freak has the worst open back headphones ever made and im hearing every piece of audio coming from his headset including my own voice. by asking him to mute his microphone it would make it LITERALLY impossible for me to hear anything coming from his headphones i.e my own voice.

hence why when this bug was happening the very first thing i asked him to do was to mute his mic. i then proceeded to say "hello hello hello" and it repeated back to me. once again with my friends mic muted, not coming from the direction of my friend either. the sound plays in both ears.

im sorry im just getting a little frustrated with this since as pc gamers i thought we was all a little smarter than this. i feel like im the only one that understands how sound leak works and by asking the person who's headset it is thats leaking sound back through their own mic to simply mute it thats how you can determine if this is a sound leak issue. also it would be coming from your teammates character since its their mic playing the sound back. this is not the issue im having ive literally confirmed it. neither of us have open back headphones we have 0 sound leak i can scream at the top of my lungs in a discord/TS3 call with 0 noise gate just like this game has and ill never hear myself play back through his headset.
