- There are workers assigned to your incinerators?
- There is a collision-free path between the carcass and the entrance to the incinerator?
Personally, in my game, I noticed that it sometimes takes quite a while until the carcass is taken care off, but not so long that I ever have multiple carcasses in my zoo. I tend to donate or release my animals before they die, though. In any case, the burning does work for me, so there must be some difference between our zoos that causes them to not work for you. Could be a bug of course.
It *is* working, so something has to be set up wrong or in the way would be my first guess. Double check that there is not landscaping, objects, anything blocking the path inside the enclosures. Double check there is access from the incinerator to the enclosures with dead animals. Double check, if you have subways set up, that there isn't anything blocking them.
It isn't the easiest task to complete (effectively it can require a bit of luck, but I imagine you could also brute force by placing several incinerators and culling several animals). Personally, however, I wouldn't suggest getting too hung up on completing this task - I'm not sure you really miss out on anything by having it uncompleted.
Would say...check the bugs section. Make a post if it isn't there... and... sorry you got bad luck :(
"It never happened to me"... And how is that supposed to help anyone.
- The devs can see that the issue does not affect everyone, which is helpful when hunting down the issue. Comparing the descriptions of players who have this problem to those who don't is literally the best way of making the bug (if it is one) reproducible, which is the first step of proper troubleshooting.
- The affected player(s) are made aware that a) they might have overlooked something (which is possible, I actually thought I had encountered this problem myself until I found out that I had accidentally rotated the incinerator in a way that blocked the entrance).
- The affected player(s) are made aware that b) there is a way to not be affected by this issue, so it may be worthwhile to search further for a solution, rather than just waiting for the devs to address the issue
- Other players who want to help (like me) can compare the description to the situation in their own games, to find out whether they might be doing differently (or the same). If they report their experience as well, we'll get a better understanding of what's exactly the difference between games where this issue occurs, and games where it doesn't.
However, how is _your_ post (which doesn't actually contribute anything to the thread) supposed to help anyone?
i had 2 pens full of about 40 dead rabbits & goose ( this was before i found out you can donate animals before you unlock the release building, and run out of room) my incinerating building was next door to these pens. i built a second and about a month latter they did start picking up the bodies .
Animal undertakers tend to tackle pens one by one, meaning they will not move to the next pen until the one they're working on is clear of dead bodies! You could try to optimize their route with subways and tiles to make their trips shorter therefore making them clear pens of dead bodies faster. I am aware that furnaces do lack the manpower to get things done fast. I will push this up to the team so stay tuned for changes made to the game!
